Huddle House — Restaurant in Cuba

Took 25 minutes to be served. Not one table was bussed, and didn't get done until new patrons were seated at them. Clear table of dirty dishes and such and no bus tub. Set on counter by clean coffee cups, ice bin and coffee maker. Cross contamination. Spoons in dish circular caddy upside down. Wait staff touched the part that would be in someone's mouth. Forgot my well done hashbrowns. Once I got them, it was obvious they were deep friend between two baskets. Hard as a rock. Charged $1.39 for onions and seen two pieces.. black as can be. I assume the rest, if any, fell to the bottom of deep fryer. Forgot syrup. Forgot jelly for toast. Strawberries on waffle were pre frozen and thawed, Tasteless and all water. Changed wrong for that as well. Menu says $1.99, was charged $2.29. Customer had a dog inside and it was not a service dog. Manager just sat at the counter, never once getting up to help the staff. Waitress using glasses to get ice not the scoop. Floors were dirty. White gravy was out of a can and Tasteless. Eggs are extra small.. mine and my daughters, and she paid $1.39 for an extra, so three eggs looked like one and a half. Waitress never come by to check on us. We had to flag her down to ask for refills and such. Pancake was very flat, not fluffy. This place is a joke. And for my daughter and I to eat, it was $36. I'll never go to another Huddle House again This was my first and last time. Brand new IHOP opening across the street. When that happens, this place could be shut down, unless the health depth. Okay let's begin. Granted there was a couple of tables. But for the cook to be more worried about going outside was bs.. then only cook one table at a times food. So let's talk about the food. My eggs tasted horrible, my grits was hard and light brown. They was nasty couldn't even find a good spot in the middle of them. Bacon and sausage on my plate was good. As was my white toast. But now the second plate order with my guest. His eggs over cooked, his grits was hard waitress just put a scoop of butter on top only reason his was not as bad as mine. His sausage was under cooked. The waitress never came back to ask if we needed anything or if we liked it. They was more worried about talking on phone with grandma about her being able to stay there. Then going back sitting at table complaining about how they do their tips. Only seen her when she walked by and dropped ticket off at table. Then her and cook went talk to some friends who was leaving. They went outside with them, then gone. The lady who checked us out finally asked if we want a refill of tea to go. By then nope just wanted out of there.. $10.49 for a platter that couldn't eat half of it. And $2.49 for tea to never get refilled. Sad.. I won't be stopping here again. Worst Huddle House ever. Someone needs to retrain cooks and waitress. Plus I don't want to here about staying at grandma house, her going for dog food for her kennel of animals. Shelbie is an amazing server, I’ve been going for over 3 years and she has my order memorized. She is so kind, friendly, engaging, and she gives amazing service - the quality of service you rarely get. She’s exceptional at her job. Andrew is a cooking ninja - comedic, always cracking jokes while getting the food out at an insanely quick rate and it’s always delicious. These two when I go in there I know everything’s going to be perfect and I’ll also have a great time seeing the staff since they are so kind yet each so good at their jobs. Chloe is another amazing server who is so kind and talented at her job. She’s so personable and great whether she’s serving or on the grill. Really wonderful people and amazing environment. I live in Rolla and I go to Cuba just for Huddle House alone because it’s a diner with great pricing, consistent, and with amazing service from both the front of house staff and back of house staff. Thank you for all the amazing service over the years. Special shoutout to Shelbie, Chloe, and Andrew for their amazing service through the years of going there, but especially for the overwhelming kindness to customers and for getting to know their regulars - frequent or not - it shows a lot about the truly sweet people they are.
