I've driven by here often being too busy to stop. Sunday, I had the time, and when I saw ham and rolls in the window. I pulled over. Very friendly and also nice inside. I got the ham and rolls and also picked out three bakery items. As I was preparing the Ham and rolls at home. I noticed how unacceptabley thick the ham slices were, and also, the ham was canned. The ham had almost no flavor. The bag of rolls said Sciortino's on it. I realized that it was just a cheap hook (ala pick n' save) to get you to come in and buy bakery. Not very nice like of them. Then, as I ate one of the treats ( Kaz bar ), the first thing I said as I was eating it was. This doesn't really taste very homemade? I read the ingredients, and it said it was a store bought hostess brand cake. They dipped it in chocolate and was caramel drizzled... I looked at the next one, and it was a peanut butter and chocolate hostess cake, done the same way... The third item was a rice crispy treat. It was pretty good. But rice krispy treats aren't really true bakery to me, either. Sorry, I may be an outlier, as I don't get bakery very often. As a Navy veteran cook and years in the food service industry, though, I feel that I do know what's good. I am very sorry to say it, but I can't recommend this business. Reply - The cheap hook comment was about the ham and rolls, all together. I mentioned the Sciortino's rolls to point out that they were not freshly baked. I have prepared thousands of hams in the Navy alone. EVERY ham slice was exactly the same size and shape. Rectangular. This is my evidence of the ham being canned. When you have a real ham, you start off on the outside and slice to the thicker middle. The slices become different sizes as you go. The edges of these ham slices were pure pink. There was no evidence of spices or baking. Mine is only one opinion. I'm sorry it has made you become so defensive. It's interesting that your actual business is sweet treats, etc. But you made no response about my comments regarding them at all. You only chose to be defensive about the ham and rolls. No business has one hundred percent satisfaction and so we should just agree...
Read moreSmall sweet shop in Cudahy. Not much room to move around. There's more room behind the counter than there is to display and browse baked goods.
The selection of treats though is vast. The cupcakes look beautiful, and the cakepops, crispie treats, and other items are so fun. Many different flavor profiles.
I bought some crispie treats, butterfinger flavored chocolate covered pretzels, and andes candies flavored pizzelles. The crispies and the pizzelles are fabulous. The pretzels though, not that they are bad, but the have too much chocolate. I know how that sounds. The chocolate is too thick so you can't taste the saltiness of the pretzel. The butterfinger flavor it definitely there, but they were disappointing with the pretzel flavor.
Cute shop that supports law...
Read moreI only got a couple things here. I walked in so the selection isn't nearly as big as I expected, the inside is very small. The few things I did get were for my mom, including chocolate covered strawberry's, a cupcake. She said the strawberries were the best chocolate covered strawberries she's ever had, and the cupcake tasted like a pancake with syrup, it was a salted Carmel something cupcake. I did get a few more things and when I was rung up the price was a lot lower than expected. If you order ahead on the website the selection is a lot larger than walking in. On Sundays it says they have hot ham and rolls. It wasn't even close to what I expected walking in but for everything I got the price I paid was really good. The customer...
