I like the Firehouse franchise. This was my first visit to the Cullman location and it was sub-par for the brand. Visited at 11:40 AM on Sunday 11/17/2024 and there were two couples sitting down eating and one gentleman ordering take-out. When it was my turn to order, the cashier made no eye contact and did not say a word. Just looked down at her screen. I figured that she was looking at something on her screen but after nearly a full minute of her not acknowledging me, I asked if she was waiting for me. She finally looked at me and said yes. I then ordered. When the screen asked for a tip amount, I chose zero since they are not making less than minimum wage (subject to tip-credit) and it is not a full-service restaurant. When I clicked on no-tip, it cancelled the transaction. She rang it up again and the same thing happened. Only when I finally chose a tip, did the order go through. This leads me to believe that a tip is required, which is absurd. I then went to get a drink from the touch screen soda machine and found that all of the zero-sugar options other than Dr. Pepper and Root beer were out. I chose root beer and it dispensed soda water and coloring, but no flavoring. I then tried the Dr. Pepper and it was the same. I then tried Vitamin water and it was the same. When I said something about it to another staff member, they said that it should be working, which it was not. I imagine that the church crowd that was arriving as I left likely complained about the drink situation and hopefully they had more away with the staff than I did. I got some unsweetened tea, which was fine and then tried to find a clean table, which was difficult. The food was ready in a reasonable amount of time and it was as-expected. The service here is not good and I doubt that I will return. In fairness, it is extremely hard to find good service at restaurants anywhere in Cullman and this is...
Read moreTerrible experience! We waited forever just to have our order taken. Right when decided to leave someone finally took our order. Then there was no ice and half the drink options were out. The floor needed swept and the tables needed wiped down. Then I went to let someone know that my sandwich was made wrong but no matter how many times I said excuse me no one could hear me because they were all in the back. So I had to go back to the front door and open it do the employees could hear the alarm go off. When I let them know the sandwich was made the girl at the counter just stood there and stared at me before she finally said so you don't want black olives in a rude way. While I'm waiting on my reorder there is an associate dancing and giggling but not cleaning or anything productive. When I got my new sandwich I told the employee that they had really bad service. She rudely asked how and when I proceeded to tell her why she replied I just got here. Keep in mind this is the employee that took my order. Nothing was done to correct anything we complained about like the tables needing wiped down or there being no ice until the next customer came in and complained of no ice. I don't think there was anyone there that was in charge. All the employees looked they were in high school or just graduated. I'm a manager and I would be ashamed if any of my associates acted this way or if my store was in that state...
Read moreAbsolutely HORRIBLE the last time I was there. Started off in drive thru behind 2 other vehicles at 820pm sat there was about 7 min and the car in front of me moved from the line and parked. The car at the speaker was still sitting there. It didn't seem like anyone was at the speaker, so I, too, got out of line and parked to go inside and order. When I walked in, the cashier wasn't friendly at all. There were about 6 employees just in a huddle in the back. Once I ordered, the cashier slammed my cup down on the counter as though she was upset. I made my drink and stood beside the gentleman that got out of the drive thru line. I asked him how long he waited, and he said about 10 min. Then apparently, the driver of the first car that was in the line came in to order as well. He said no one came to the speaker. I'm not sure if the drive-thru closes early, but if so, it's not hard to at least acknowledge the customer and let them know. To top it off, they called my name for me to get my order, and they didn't put it in a bag or a tray. When I asked for a bag, she tossed it up on the counter for me to bag it. I usually just let things go and don't make a big fuss, but everyone who was working that night should all have to go through some sort of customer service class. Very rude and disrespectful group of employees. The food tasted great, but the...
