I came to Jubilee Coffee & Wine Bar looking for a quiet place to sip a cappuccino and maybe pretend I was in a French film about lost love. What I got instead… was destiny.
First off, the coffee? Divine. Smooth as velvet, rich like your ex’s new partner, and topped with latte art that whispered, “you are safe now.” The ambiance was cozy yet elegant—mismatched chairs, warm lighting, and just the faintest hint of Merlot and mahogany in the air. I was in heaven. Until I wasn’t.
Enter Rob, a homeless man with a vendetta, a twitch in his eye, and a stomach clearly full of bad decisions. He came for me. More specifically—he came for my coffee. Not to steal it. Oh no. To defile it. His pants were already halfway down.
Before I could scream, she appeared.
A barista. A redhead. Fiery as the sun and twice as fast. With one fluid motion, she leapt over the counter and roundhouse kicked Rob into a pile of throw pillows. He hissed and vanished into the shadows, muttering curses and lactose intolerance warnings.
I stared at her in awe. She looked down at me, extended her hand, and said, “You need training.”
That day, I became her kung fu apprentice. Between espresso shots and tai chi in the alley behind the wine bar, I learned more about life, love, and high kicks than any therapist could offer. I now serve lattes with the strength of the dragon and the grace of the crane.
Jubilee isn’t just a coffee and wine bar. It’s a sanctuary. A dojo. A life-changing experience.
5 stars. Come for the wine. Stay for the...
Read moreI would recommend doing lunch here, the dinner entree menu is not great. Couple simple things need to be fixed here for it to get a higher rating. Tables need to be balanced, as much fun as it is to have a rocking table in a new place it's kind of sad that somebody hasn't taken the 15 minutes to address this. For some reason they've put coarse salt in the salt dispensers which are clearly designed for table salt so that works about as well as you would expect. Bar is VERY slow, if you go stick to wine if you want to get your drinks at a decent rate. This seems to be an issue at lunch and dinner sadly.
Tapas for the most part have been very good, although if you order them in the evening your bread might be a little on the stale side. I'm guessing they slice it for lunch and then use leftover at dinner sadly. Beef entree is served on a bed of pasta that sadly is cooked to the point of falling apart and completely unseasoned/bland, chicken entree was also over cooked but not the the extent of the pasta.
This place has a TON of potential and waitresses are all great. With some small tweaks and bartender maybe making drinks while chatting up people the service issues would be resolved. In short, fix the tables, move the coarse salt back in the kitchen and use it please, check the food before you serve it overcooked and get the bartender (who seems to be super nice guy) to move slightly faster and you've got a 5 star place.
For patrons, go for lunch and enjoy the...
Read moreBest. Experience. Ever! First of all, the place is beautiful!! Like another review said, it’s easy to forget you’re in Alabama! I would expect this type of place in bigger cities around the world, honestly! The food is amazing! We tried so many things because everything brought out was on point! The pizza was fabulous, the Tapas were crazy good (we had pretty much all of them), the entrees were truly something you could get at a Michelin Star restaurant. The cocktails were unique and delicious, my adult children are coffee connoisseurs and said the cappuccinos were better than any they’d ever had. I swear I tasted every wine at the self serve wine wall, obviously not every wine is for everyone, but they were all top notch quality and someone at our table loved every single one of them. The service was amazing! Everyone was so kind and made sure we had everything we could need. The manager welcomed us in and the owner stopped by and talked to us like we had been best friends for years! I looked over their breakfast and brunch menu’s and cannot wait to try both! MIMOSA FLIGHTS?!? Yes please! We will be back time...
