McAlister's Deli — Restaurant in Cullman

Had heard about how great this place was and so decided to go here after Church May 1st. The line was out the door. The Manager (later learned his name might be Jose but not sure) was sitting behind the counter laughing and joking with one of the staff members. neither was taking orders. Over half the tables were dirty and covered in trash. there was probably about 9 orders sitting on the back counter waiting to go out to customers. They had 1 Lady that was taking orders to the customers. I was getting tired of waiting in line and was ready to leave but it is where my friend at the time wanted to eat. Finally the Manager and the other staff member started taking orders again while still laughing and joking with each other instead of focusing on each customer. Once my order was put in I took the only clean table left which was a 2 seat table right next to the door. It still took probably around 20 mins to get my food. I was not impressed with the sandwich at all. It was mediocre at best. The bread was soggy. Was suppose to be a hot sandwich but was lukewarm at best. I am not sure about what all the craze was about with this place. It was definitely not worth the $27.64 I spent here. I will not be eating at this establishment ever again. I normally give a place multiple chances. Due to how extreme my first experience was there, the multiple issues, and how they have publicly treated others that were unhappy with their service, they will not get...

Update... Placed a door dash order today. Yet again they've screwed up the Southwest salad. No avocado, no poblano and black bean relish, but at least there was dip with the French dip.

I don't have these issues when I eat in. Only when I order pick up or doordash.

Original post... I placed an online order yesterday and picked it up at the window. I got the Southwest salad with added jalapenos, extra avocado, and Chipotle ranch dressing. I also ordered a French dip. I don't know how much avocado normally comes with it but you can see the picture as to what I got. I also got a giant chunk of lettuce stem, not a big deal. There was a big deal though, because that was not Chipotle ranch dressing, that was thousand Island. And I didn't discover it until I had put it all over my salad. And my French dip, had no dip. I got the sandwich but no au jus. I decided to call, was placed on hold, And then the call dropped. I threw away the salad. And decided it wasn't worth the effort of calling back. I was in the Cullman store I went up to the counter to order a sandwich and the young lady said you get one side with your order so I picked the side and then she charged me $3.19 for it and I asked her why are you charging me for a side since you just told me I get a side with it she says well that’s an extra and I said well you need to rephrase how you say that because you made it sound like you get a free side with your order and I said could you take it off and she went to let me know that why don’t you just get rid of everything and just leave so when I left highly upset, As I was walking out, talking to myself, I said this place is trashy She comes walking out the door Bode up at me like am I saying she’s trashy I said no ma’am you’re not trashy, but this place is trashy and if you work here you’re trashy too and I got my truck and left and I won’t be back and I love their food but I don’t care how big a smile you put on bad management ruins The whole experience and reflects everybody that works there,...
