A truly unpleasant experience especially concerning the lady who I presume runs the place. Ordered a 5 meat/cheese platter and made the unfortunate discovery that not a single item of our platter was our choice outside of the ratio of cheese to meats. We asked if at all possible we could get some brie thrown in and was promptly shut down even at the offer to pay extra. Instead she repeatedly asked us about food allergies to which we responded having none. Around the 4th time of repetitive questioning I audibly sighed and said fine my dad is allergic to seafood and shellfish especially. She scoffed at us putting on a smug expression as if we were idiots for answering her own question and said that there was no way she'd put seafood on a cheese/meat platter. Sorry for answering the question you wouldn't stop asking you crone. Of course 15 minutes later when we return to pick up the platter there isn't any brie because clearly part of the 30$ I'm paying for when I get a cheese/meat platter is for some pretentious lady to tell me what I should want to eat. I do enjoy playing a slot machine with my food. It irked me further because I know they put no brie there specifically because it was the one item in the 5 item platter I specifically requested. I'm sure of it because we still ended up paying 8$ more for an eyeballed "pound" of brie that smelled awful and tasted worse than it smelled. I'm not new to eating cheese I'm aware of its occasional smell factor. I've also had ample brie in my life and what I ate today was by far the worst brie I have ever had. To conclude the only thing I'm thankful for from this truly atrocious experience is that I will never have to spend another dollar as this will be my first and last time purchasing anything from this...
Read moreI wish I could give it 10 stars! Culver city residents and all others, if you haven't been, you're missing a pleasant evening out. Kustaa is a inconspicuous little spot. You'll pass by, thinking it's a only a deli (you may be able to see the cheese display from the window).. but nooo.. they have a nice little surprise for you in the back. Stringed lights, couch seating and a nicely decorated eating patio awaits you. For those who are in love with the charcuterie experience, Kustaa is the place for you. Their platters are amazing and delicious. Manu, our sommelier was extremely personable and very knowledgeable. His french accent made us feel like we were in France. His recommendation on wine was spot on! He put our wine in the coolest, little cooler bag to keep it chilled. Yon, the owner made a small oversight, but quickly made up for it with a platter of bread and dips (on the house) The whole staff was very friendly. The woman who brought out our platter, named and thoroughly described all the meats and cheeses that were on there. My friends ordered from the menu and enjoyed their meals. Make sure you give Kustaa a visit. Tell Manu, Gina's review...
Read more50th Birthday Celebration couldn't have gone any better. The location is truly lovely, well decorated with an intimate ambiance. The food/the wine is delicious and felt as though I was back home in the South of France, eating the best of what I grew up with. The Raclette...WOW!!! Best of all, were the owners (Yon and Tina) and their staff. They made us feel as though we had known them forever. What a wonderful host/hostess! They were so welcoming, it felt as though we were in their living room enjoying the evening. Yon and Tina came to our table and joined us for drinks and lots of laughter. I can't recommend this place enough and only wish I lived closer. Either way, definitely worth the drive. Thank you Yon/Tina for an amazing evening. ...
