LETTER TO CORPORATE!
I am writing to Rainbow Acres today to bring to your attention an incident which occurred at your your Culver City location. I have been a loyal patron of this store for several years and have never had a single issue until today. I have a medical condition where I am not able to wear a mask or any type of face covering, shielding my mucus membranes (nose or mouth). I was accosted by the employee at entry to the store who was making sure all customers were wearing a face cover, shield, etc... I was told I needed to wear one in order to shop. After explaining to the store owner who happened to be there, that I had a medical condition which prohibits the use of a face covering, he simply didn't give it much importance and instead of making the necessary accommodations for me, he said he'd be fined if he didn't adhere to the "mandate," which is NOT true because there is no statutory law in the books that says anyone will be fined nor lawfully requiring anyone under the law to wear such make-shift mask / or any of the face coverings of the sorts. they sent the manager to speak to me. Furthermore, the owner failed to make matters any better and instead I was told I would have to exit the store. I'm appalled at the way in which I was treated, especially here, out of all places. I thought we were still living in America... Apparently not, according to Rainbow Acres.
Under the American Disabilities Act, Rainbow Acres is in clear violation of my rights and failure to provide the necessary accommodations. I am providing the store an opportunity to assess this matter. Under the ADA, I am protected from being compelled to wear ANY face covering which, legally, is not medically approved and under both The Los Angeles County of Public Health Department and in addition, in OSHA's regulations, recommends against the use of a face mask or any type of face covering. It is merely a recommendation to wear such a thing, NOT a law, order, mandate or rule. Feel free to reference that!
I have not contacted the ADA nor an attorney regarding this matter yet. As I stated, I will provide Rainbow Acres an opportunity to assess this matter in hopes it will be corrected quickly and swiftly where I can continue to use this store for the shopping of my essential goods in an environment where my rights are not violated and free from harassment. Any business establishment, if found in violation of any of the ADA's policies and guidelines, can be fined...
Read moreAwesome store! It looks small(ish), but it's actually a pretty big complex. There's the main area where you can find beauty and personal hygiene products, candles and incense, cooking tools, and of course plenty of food. Fresh produce, dairy products, eggs, breads, cereals, frozen foods, canned goods, snacks, sweets, baking items, vinegars, dressings, honey, wine, spices, cleaning products, etc! Then, there's a seperate wing that houses the vitamins and supplements. It's past the produce section and it's huge! Vitamins, elixers, ointments, refrigerated supplements and probiotics, oils, rubs, powdered greens, powdered whey, teas, juices, etc. And finally, there's the deli. That too is a seperate room (opposite of the vitamin section) and it's also pretty big with a huge, tasty selection. There's a hot counter, with roast chickens, sandwiches, hot dishes and side dishes. Then there is a salad bar. And surrounding all that are plenty of packaged salads (pasta and meat), pre-wrapped sandwiches and wraps, hummus, cheeses, yogurts, pasteries, cakes, pies and puddings, bottled coffees and teas and other bottled drinks, house made tortilla chips, etc., etc... This awesome store looks small on the outside, but is a maze of fun with LOTS to explore on the inside. I think...
Read moreThis was my first time visiting Rainbow Acres Natural Foods, and I was blown away! From the outside, you’d never guess how big it is or the kind of store it is but once you step inside, it’s a fully stocked wonderland of organic and specialty products. They have everything: skincare and body care, fresh produce, grains, flours, chips, milk, soda, kombucha, and an impressive selection of gluten-free items like breads and tortillas.
There’s also a hot bar, a juice bar, a dairy section, and tons of vegetarian options. Emily, a store employee, gave me a little tour since it was my first visit, and she was so welcoming. I didn’t even get to explore the pharmacy/wellness section because there’s just so much to see, definitely worth taking your time to walk around and discover unique flavors and ingredients.
The prices were surprisingly reasonable for such high-quality products, and by the time I checked out, I was genuinely impressed. Parking is easy with a free lot out front, plus metered street parking nearby.
I’ll definitely be back especially for their breakfast hot bar! This time I grabbed a pre-made breakfast burrito and a green juice, both delicious. Next visit, I’m diving deeper into their...
