Fantastic hot dogs and french fries. Their hot dogs are VERY good. I personally got the chili onion dogs and they were very good. The french fries have consistently been crispy and hot. If you're in Cumberland I'd say the visit is well worth your time and money. Quick service too! You can't currently eat inside but they have a "Weiner Hut" that's got nice pictures, music and some indoor heating. Edit 9/14/23 : The hospitality of the folks who work here is above and beyond. My friend and I came here to get lunch and they only accept cash. My friend only had card and they allowed us to eat first and pay once he was able to hit an ATM. Fantastic and very kind staff. Edit 2/1/24 : I've had a mockup of a Curtis dog from Sheetz and it PALES in comparison. You absolutely cannot beat a Curtis dog. I think this is my favorite eatery in Cumberland and I hope they open up shop again soon, as I've never been inside! Edit 12/11/24 : The hospitality is evermore demonstrably shown here. My friend and I came to get dinner and we were offered, and given, free drinks by Gino. Curtis' seems like a business that prioritizes people over profits. Support local businesses!

THE STANDARD by which all others are judged! Great Coney Island sauce complimented by a special mustard (don’t you DARE put ketchup on these). Crisp yet moist onions. The buns are steamed just right. And the weiners are flavorful. Best complimented by their twice-dipped french fries and your drink of choice (the chocolate rickey is a throw back). And now that indoor seating is back, you will not find a better example of a good old fashioned hot dog joint! It’s worth a three hour drive. I ate my first Curtis’s Coney Island hot dog when my Dad would lead me and my brother into George’s Confectionery which was attached to Coney Island. Then it was on to Coney Island or Curtis’s by myself or with friends when I was old enough to go on my own. Now long-time family friend Gino Giatras keeps the family business going strong. When you visit, engage this character in a bit of history of the business and of Cumberland. You won’t regret a moment!

Interesting place. Cheap burgers and hotdogs. Pretty tasty. I got the impression they are used to catering to locals, and kind of expect you to know what to order before walking up to the window. The only guy working was pleasant enough, just not overly friendly. Not at all rude, but maybe not too excited to be working on a cold afternoon, two days before Christmas. The food was made quickly, and it was hot and tasty. It looks like they closed the dining room at the beginning of the pandemic, and three years later still haven't opened it back up. I imagine it never will, which is a shame because that was a big part of the historic appeal to me. Without that, it's kind of like a food truck with a ten square foot griddle and cash register. But they did have a tented outdoor area with a propane heater, so that was nice. Overall, a decent experience and worth checking out if you're wandering around downtown.

Hands down, Coney Island serves the BEST wieners! Geno and the crew are always fantastic to chat with whenever my husband and I visit. As locals, we often find ourselves craving these delicious hotdogs. A few years back, when I was pregnant with my second son, I couldn't get enough of them. Geno even joked with my husband, saying, 'if she gets a craving in the middle of the night, you better come knock on my door.' While we never took him up on that offer, it just shows how passionate Geno is about his hotdog shop and the genuine connections he builds with everyone who visits.

The walk-up order window and wiener hut were great additions during Covid, but I think I can speak for everyone in town when I say it’s wonderful to see the doors open again. I could spend all day soaking in the atmosphere, looking at all the memories Geno has displayed around the shop, and enjoying the background chatter and laughter that always seem to be happening. He is also incredibly quick at whipping up a lunch if you're in a hurry and need to grab and go.

I once worked for a 90-year-old woman who loved sharing her fond memories of watching the family run the shops back in the day. She would light up with joy while enjoying a Coney Island hotdog and reminiscing. This little hotdog shop has touched so many lives over the years, and I deeply appreciate the dedication Geno and his team pour into making Coney Island what it is today. Do yourself a favor, stop in and experience the magic of Coney Island famous wieners for yourself. You’re sure to fall in love just...

Curtis Famous Weiners in the really nice historic downtown district of Cumberland is a gem hidden in plain sight. While traveling cross country we decided to stop in Cumberland, get gas, stretch our legs, and eat, using google to find something my wife read out "Curtis Famous Weiners", without any vetos, there we went. The menu is simple, weiners (also known as hot dogs) coney island style, burgers, and some side options.

The weiners are slim, boiled (or maybe steamed) served with dark mustard, chopped raw onion, and hot dog gravy (beanless chili). You can order weiners with less than all those toppings, but don't (more on this in a sec...) you can also order a burger with cheese and/or the above toppings, don't.

The place is not called Curtis Famous Weiners so you can order a burger, order the damn weiners or the guy who takes the sitdown orders will berate you to the back of counter help when he yells out your order to them from 4 feet away.

Also, you should order 2 or three per person, they are not huge, but we are talking like $1.20, so get 3 if you are a fully grown adult. Lastly, i mentioned sides, there's fries and maybe some other stuff, get the fries, the come out of the fryer at about 900 degrees, ketchup is available in little packets.

So, if you are ever rolling down i68 in western Maryland, make up some excuse to stop in Cumberland, and go to Curtis Famous Weiners, and get the damn weiners, it what they are...

Great place! The quality to price ratio is insane. $2 dogs with the works! And they're delicious, easily worth more than the price you pay. One thing to note is that they are cash only. My first time here I didn't know that and before I could even get my wallet out to pay, my dog was done. Since I didn't have cash they just gave it to me. Super nice and not the least bit expected. I've been back a few times since and of course bring cash, plus extra to leave a healthy tip. Get their signature dog with the brown mustard, onions, and chili. The fries are great, too. I haven't tried anything else on the menu yet because this is my go-to place when I'm craving a quality dog and so I don't show up here to order a burger. But I'm sure whatever you order will more than satisfy you. Some reviews are pointing out the small sized dogs. They're small but not "bite sized". They're an "okay" size, just don't order only 1 and expect to be full. But these people saying it's expensive??? Absolutely not. Yeah the dogs are on the smaller size but they're $2 with everything. If you won't be full with just one, get two or three! Still a bargain and now your belly will be full. Where else these days can you get good quality, tasty food to fill your stomach for $4-$6? Nowhere else that I...
