It's hard to judge a spot when you're from out of town and will probably only ever be there once. Based on my experience during lunch on a Wednesday, I'd say it was decent but I was hoping for more. We sat outside which is a really nice area, they have several tables setup under some shade trees. We were inside briefly and it had a great old school vibe which is fitting for all of downtown Cumberland. Service was good, only complaint being we received the wrong type of chicken salad. One of their specials was chicken salad (like tuna salad) with fruit on the side but we received a salad with chicken on it. Didn't mention anything because it looked like a good salad, and it was, just the wrong kind. The Reuben was average. I expected great things since they have a deli with corned beef on site but I'd be interested in trying something else if I'm ever in town again. Overall, nice atmosphere but the food that we ordered didn't blow us away but like I said, it's hard to judge an entire menu on two items so four stars seems reasonable because I'm sure there are some gems that we just don't know about.

Absolutely without a doubt this place has the friendliest staff I've ever met! Quaint little restaurant pub. From the second you step into the restaurant until the second you leave the staff is very attentive. We never had to ask for anything. The food is absolutely delicious. You receive large portions that are expertly prepared and reasonable priced. We had appetizers, entrees and dessert. The hardest decision was what to get as everything that came out if the kitchen looked so good. We sat in the bar area as we liked that atmosphere the most. The upstairs boasted candle lit tables with linen tablecloths. Most customers did have reservations. We did not; but, we were not turned away. We were equally welcomed. You must try thir little gem out if you are in the area.

I stopped by City Lights Café in Cumberland, MD recently, and wow—their burger did not disappoint. I ordered the classic cheeseburger, and it was honestly one of the best I’ve had in a while. The beef was juicy and full of flavor, cooked just the way I like it. The bun tasted fresh, maybe even house-made, and the toppings—lettuce, tomato, onion, and cheese—were all crisp and perfectly balanced. Mix it with there Mac and Cheese and you have the perfect combo. The fries were great too, crispy and seasoned just right. I sat outside under the trees, and the whole atmosphere made the experience even better. Super chill, great service, and you can tell they care about what they’re serving. I’ll definitely be going back next time I’m down that way I'll definitely go again.

Me and my husband went to eat there today our sever wasn’t that friendly witch was ok at first ,sometimes people have off days . I asked for a drink menu and was told that they didn’t have one , witch was giving to me 2 minutes later when i mentioned the one i’ve read prior times (i’ve been to this restaurant 6 times ) . the food was amazing as always came out in a timely fashion . when we asked for the check the server read my balance out loud . witch i was confused about because i’ve been to fancier establishments and hole in the wall sit downs and i’ve never experienced that usually they turn it over or have it in a little book for privacy . I called city lights after our visit and spoke with owner (the husband ) not to be mistaken for the other owner (the polite wife. that i speak to on regular visit .So when i call i only called to speak to him about the check situation because i wasnt sure if she was new or not . he informed me that that server had been with them for 30 years .(i’ve never had her ad a server before , my cousin even works there ).The owner told me that he didn’t understand my problem and he didn’t see it ad s a big deal saying to me “Well what’s the big secret ? “ after i told him my concerns .His tone was rude and uncalled for and he just wasn’t understanding making smart remarks . That’s not how you treat customers . i brought my husband there for the first time and but sadly won’t be returning. The food was amazing but the staff was off putting (besides the...

Oh I don't even know where to begin! We decided to try out this gem yesterday after a long day of hiking. The location is in such a lovely part of town. Plenty of parking including behind the restaurant. The food was amazing. I cannot remember the last time I went to a restaurant and every dish was perfection. Our honey brie appetizer was delicious. The New York strip with lump crab with roasted veggies and mashed potatoes were superb. Our dessert of creme brulee and blackberry crisp was delicious. We were so stuffed but kept eating because everything was just so delicious! Even our bottle of wine was fantastic. This place is worth every penny. Beyond the excellent food, the staff was professional and the atmosphere is lovely. They are doing a great job at spacing folks out during the pandemic as well. Can't recommend this...
