Cumberland is an old city and reflects it. Also has problems with crime and collateral problems like drugs. However they have a beautiful district around the churches. A half a dozen beautiful churches with luscious gardens. A lot of history as you get ready to climb into the Cumberland gap.

Because of my interest in the French and Indian war I had to see this spot. There is nothing of the old fort there, but there is a beautiful church. This was a very quick stop and look visit, but I hope to go back and explore more.

I was pretty underwhelmed with Heritage Days. Maybe it was just high expectations. The town is such an interesting place and we enjoyed the demonstrations. It may be just post Covid so we will try again next year.
