My family travelled up to Cumberland (3 hours one way), with 2 other families, to attend the Polar Express event. This was the hotel recommended by the event. We requested to have all 3 rooms on the same floor, but the hotel was not able to accommodate. After the festivities, we ordered dinner and met in the common area to eat dinner together. We had 4 children in our group, and 4 adults. The front desk associate, Richard, was negative, condensing, and aggressive. He singled out our group and upon giving us our first “warning”, he told us that we would be ejected from the hotel if he had to talk to us again. Our kids weren’t being loud, they weren’t running around and screaming; they were well behaved and excited children who had just left the polar express. Richard completely ruined the experience and vibe. My finance asked for his name and the number to speak to the manager. He called the number provided and Richard answered the phone; telling him he’d have to leave a message with him and he would forward it to the manager. When leaving to pick up dinner, Richard followed him outside and approached him at our vehicle. This was absurd and uncalled for. I truly believe that we were singled out because my finance is Hispanic and can sometimes look to be middle eastern. There were 2 other families who entered the “common area” space, all with children and all being much louder and more rambunctious than our group, and Richard never even approached them. We have a video of the other children running around, yelling, and jumping all over the furniture. The point of that 10 minute video was to show that we were targeted and treated unfairly. We will never again visit this hotel and furthermore we will request that the polar express event either adds another accommodation option to their event or we will not be returning to that event either. As for the hotel itself: the breakfast staff and food was amazing. The pool was great for the kids, but there were used towels laying around everywhere and no clean ones available. Our room was nice. A little dated, but clean.

When you’re traveling with someone you care about, you want to find a place to rest that is clean and safe. This Fairfield Inn location was that and more! My husband and I travel all over the country for our business. Most often we find Marriott hotels most reliable so we exclusively look for them first. Last night we were driving home from a weekend trip to the Poconos and we found this hotel for an overnight stay. The room decor is a little dated but that’s the only non-positive experience. So a 4/5 for that. The front desk clerk was super friendly (we arrived at 10:30p), the bed was comfortable, the room had a larger than average refrigerator and a microwave and the bathroom was spotless. We paid $300/n for a Marriott over the weekend - it didn’t have those same comforts (tiny fridge, no microwave) and this cost us less than 30% of that nightly stay. In addition this area is so picturesque! I am uploading a few photos. We will definitely come back again!

$250 for a night. Used Chase points. We could only get a disability type room which was a mistake. -TV did not work -The bed was super low to the ground and not comfortable. -The entire bathroom was a tile that had not been kept clean, so you felt very dirty walking anywhere in the bathroom. -Breakfast was included, which is nice. It was mediocre, like most hotel breakfasts. -I am a Bonvoy Gold Elite member, and I asked twice for 2pm checkout (was told yes that’s fine by Kenyon) and checked in the AM to be sure all was good. I was then told no, that was not something they saw on my account. Then the lady looked harder and found it. I should not have to check THREE times to ensure the Gold Elite benefits were honored. Of note, the location right on the C@O canal trail for hiking, biking, running is very nice.

Beware!!! BED BUGS!!! BEWARE!!! BED BUG's!!! ||I had the misfortune of staying at the Fairfield by Marriot @ 21 North Wineow St. Cumberland Md 21502 on Sat 7/29/23 and Sunday 7/30/23. Around 4am i was awakened by an extreme irritation on the back of my neck. So bad that I sat up on the side of the bed and turned on the light and woke my Lady friend. She saw the bugs on my neck and immediately pinched at it and killed it. There were two. I received 7 bites to my neck, one between the should blade and on my left shoulder. We were both shocked and outraged that this was happening to us. She immediately jumped out the bed called the front desk to report it and was told they were so sorry but were full and had no rooms to move us to, but would report it and address it later in the morning. We spoke with the on Mgr and he assured us they would take care of this starting with an inspection and a room move that would happen later that day. We were there for a Family reunion picnic that was kicking off that Saturday. He stated they would have a New room ready by our return that evening, by my estimated return time of 6pm. The reunion was extended to a house gathering and we got back to the hotel after 10pm, and were told that they did not move us and because we didn't answer a cell phone call in the Mountains. We were forced to stay another night in Room 212. Now, outraged again and feeling misled and mistreated this was horrible. They offered to pay for one night stay and provide my Ladyfriend points on her 8 year Marriot membership card. This will never do, so I'm warning every and anyone who might opt to stay here. Stay AWAY!!! We are taking this to Corporate and the local Board of Health. I have pictures of neck and the bugs. If I can post them here. If not I can forward them. ...

Beware!!! BED BUG'S!!! BEWARE BED BUG'S!!! Check the bed and pillows. I stayed here on 7/29/23 and was awaken around 4am to extreme irritation on the back of my neck. So bad I sat on the side of bed turned on the light and realized I was being bitten by BUG's! Bed Bugs! I woke my girlfriend and she saw the bug on my pillow and pinched it. I had seven bites on the back of my neck, one in the middle between the shoulder and on my shoulder. My girlfriend called the front desk and reported it. They was apologetic but stated they were full and had no other room to switch us to. We stripped and bed and searched more more and spent the rest of the night in horror of being bitten even more. A mgr and assistant came the next morning and began checking the bed and behind the picture. They assured us they would make this right and move us to another room by our return that evening. That did not happen. We were at a Family reunion that ran over and returned late after 10pm and were feeling better because they promised us a move into another room, but when we arrived were told they had not done so because we didn't answer a call to a cell phone. They rented the room being held for us to another patron and we were forced to stay in room 212 again. Needless to say we were outraged they were nonchalant about it and didn't seem to care. We are taking this to corporate filing a formal complaint and notifying the Board of Health. I'm going to make other posts with picture of my neck and Bug carcass on the pillow. Just...
