We got the "Four-flavor Broth" (beef Tallow/tomato/mushroom/sour). It was glorious. There were four sections, 3 on the perimeter and 1 in the center. The beef tallow we got medium spicy, which the employee said would actually be very spicy by other stores' standards, and it sure was. It is not the kind of spicy soup you would choke on, just the kind of broth you can't drink on its own. But each to his own!
There is a sauce bar that is an additional $2.99 per person. It also has some other offerings like woodear, feng guo, and watermelon but not enough to be considered a side bar.
I definitely recommend the "tomato tender pork slices". It comes in a small pile with tomato chunks at the top. It is very tender as the name suggests. Green Pepper Corn Beef comes in the same format. We also got the wagyu beef and lamb which were all great.
This place also has a great deal of offal selections. It's very authentic Chengdu: pork aorta, 3 types of tripe, crispy duck intestines, liver, and even pork kidney, the list goes on...I have never had offal of this quality in the bay area, so thinly sliced and not too gamey.
For those more adventurous, there are pig brains, bullfrog legs, duck legs, etc.
Besides the meat slices and delicious innards, they also have great shrimp pastes and meat pastes. Of these, shrimp balls with duck egg yolk, bamboo fungus stuffed with shrimp paste, and sour cow pea 🫛 meatballs were favorites of our table.
For dessert, the cylindrically brown sugar rice cakes were very delicate and their shape allowed them to be perfectly fried. These really helped with the spiciness.
The workers were so helpful with the ordering, warned us about last call. Why, they even let us finish eating for awhile after they closed, bless them!
As a parting gift, they gave us a keychain of a lucky/beckoning cat inside a dragon dance costume. A festive symbol of great...

I recently visited this restaurant with my family and had an extremely disappointing experience. The staff were unprofessional and seated us near the toilet entrance and the kitchen's busy in-and-out service area. When we requested to be moved to another table, we were refused with the explanation that all eight other similarly sized tables were "reserved."
I questioned when they started taking reservations for specific tables, especially since none of the tables even appeared to be numbered. The staff couldn’t provide a clear reason, so we decided to leave before even sitting down.
It’s disheartening to encounter such discrimination, arrogance, and lack of respect from what appears to be a fine restaurant. I’ll revisit in six months to see if this place still exists, but for now, it has left a lasting...
Read moreHad a great experience at Feng Hotpot. The broths were flavorful — we ordered the spicy Sichuan and pork bone, and both were solid. The spicy broth had good heat without being overpowering, and the bone broth was rich and smooth.
Ingredients were fresh and well-prepared. The sliced beef, lamb, and shrimp were high quality, and the handmade noodles were a nice touch. We also tried the shredded potato dish based on staff recommendation — definitely worth ordering.
Service was efficient and friendly. The tablet ordering system made it easy to add items during the meal, and staff stayed on top of refills and clearing plates. There was a short wait when we arrived, but it moved quickly.
Pricing is fair for the quality, and the space is clean and comfortable. Good spot for groups or a casual dinner. Will...
