FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK—LISTEN UP!
I am saying this with my whole chest, with all 10 toes down, and if I had more toes, they’d be down too. Boss Chicken and Beer in Cuyahoga Falls is not just a restaurant—it’s an experience, a movement, a life-changing event. If you haven’t been here yet, let me personally extend an invitation to rethink your choices, clear your schedule, and GO.
Now, let me tell you why this place has my family in a chokehold of deliciousness and why I might just start carrying a Boss Chicken fan club membership card. My wife has celiac disease, which means dining out is often a stressful, limited, and honestly heartbreaking ordeal. But Boss? Oh, Boss understood the assignment. They don’t just have gluten-free options—they ARE gluten-free. No cross-contamination worries, no "well, we can remove the bun" nonsense. Just real, flavorful, crispy, juicy, mind-blowingly good chicken. And that feeling of watching my wife eat things she hasn’t been able to touch in decades? Absolutely priceless. (#ripmozzarellasticks).
As someone who’d like to think they know a thing or two about serving the gluten-free community, I can tell you—there is no greater joy than watching someone nervously approach, expecting the usual letdown, only to be met with the words: "Everything here is gluten-free." The shock, the disbelief, the cautious hope turning into pure, unfiltered excitement—that’s what makes it all worth it. Because for too long, this community has had to grin and bear it with a forced smile, pretending their “food-adjacent” gluten-free options were enjoyable. But places like Boss? They’re changing the game.
Now, let’s talk food. If you’re out here thinking, "Oh, it’s just chicken," let me stop you right there. You are NOT ready. This isn’t just chicken—it’s Boss Chicken. The flavors? Unreal. The portions? Respectfully absurd. The Tupac, 4-pac, and 8-pacs? They are not for the weak. (And yes, I have seen people order a 6-pack with full confidence only to wave the white flag and request a to-go box 20 minutes later.) Come hungry, leave victorious (or defeated, but happily so).
And if the food wasn’t enough, let me tell you about the team at this location. I don’t know what’s in the water at the Cuyahoga Falls spot, but these folks bring the energy, the vibes, and the absolute best customer service every single time. You’d never be able to guess what’s going on in their lives—when they’re at Boss, it’s smiles, hustle, and making sure you’re having the best time possible. Trevor, Matt, Sarah, Tam, Jesse—y’all are the real MVPs. I could come here just for the positive vibes alone. Chick-fil-A may have "my pleasure," but Boss has "we got you" energy, and I am HERE FOR IT.
Let me hit you with some Trevor wisdom. I roll in, family in tow—wife and three kids—ready to feast. I’m a planner, so I had a whole order ready: four Tupacs (because I figured my wife and daughter would split). Trevor, in his infinite hospitality and brilliance, pauses. Calculates. Analyzes the situation like a seasoned mathematician. And then he hits me with, "You know, an 8-pac plus any extra sides you’d want would actually save you money.” SIR. WHAT?! Not only did he look out for my taste buds, but also for my wallet. He didn’t have to do that. But he did. Because that’s the kind of top-tier service you get at Boss. I could keep going. I have stories for days. But let me just say this: Boss Chicken and Beer in Cuyahoga Falls is ELITE. They are undefeated. Unmatched. And if you haven’t been yet, consider this your official wake-up call.
Emily—I know you respond to every review. (Yes, I checked. You don’t miss. Respect.) I am trusting you know how incredible this team is. But if you ever need a hype man, a testimonial, a full-on TED Talk about the greatness of this location, I’m your guy. If you ever need or want more stories, more praise, or just another hype session about how incredible your CFalls location is, feel free to look me up. You’ll find me. And trust me, I’ve got plenty more where that came from.

Read moreI recently went here with my grandparents (who are gluten free), as well as my mother. Overall, it was a fine experience but there are some things I think guests should be aware of.
It is an incredibly crowded and busy environment with little seating and lots of bodies packed into tight spaces. It was also a quite loud restaurant with music blaring, which made it a little difficult to talk.
At the time of writing this, the restaurant only had sweet tea, flavored unsweetened tea, and water for unlimited refills, I believe. Other drinks were available but they were bottled. I am a type one diabetic, meaning I cannot have sweet tea. When asked if there was any sweetener available for the flavored but unsweetened tea, (i.e. Stevia, Sweet n Low, Splenda, etc.), the cashier (who I believe indicated she was the owner) made a comment about not carrying any "fake stuff". I understand why someone would make a statement like this but it is a little ableist considering that "fake stuff" is all I am able to have. While my mother was trying to decide what to eat, the owner also began trying to recommend things for "diabetic reasons", mistaking my mom for a diabetic since she is an older, plus sized woman. This was highly offensive and unnecessary.
It was also extremely difficult to get refills since one had to go to the cashier each time. We attempted to request refills from other workers but were directed to the front each and every time. This makes for an uncomfortable and inconvenient experience in an already crowded and tight space.
The food itself was fine and I am SO appreciative of any restaurant that has a multitude of gluten free options, as my grandma has a severe gluten allergy.
I recognize that this is simply my experience and having only been to the restaurant one time, I do not speak for the whole of the restaurant. I definitely recommend you giving it a try yourself! And while some might find it unnecessary or nitpicky to post a review such as this, I find it incredibly important to call out instances where language truly matters. I have nothing against the owner or this restaurant, like I said, I recommend you check it out! But I think it is important to share that I left the restaurant feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable - not something I seek out when finding...
Read moreMy family and I visited here on a Monday night. The staff was immediately welcoming, and made us feel comfortable enough to sit at the bar. I made it clear that I needed to choose something that was gluten free, and Matt did an exceptional job explaining which options on the menu were gluten free as well as some that were vegan!
Mike and Matt both did a great job explaining sizes of portions to make ordering easier for our kiddo, and Mike was also very helpful in accomodating my husband's choice for minimal toppings on his chicken sandwich (he's picky). My kid and I ended up sharing an 8 Pac with a choice of 2 sides and 4 sauces. I got loaded fries and she had regular. The fries were INCREDIBLE (I have some leftover and I cannot wait to eat them.) They even offerred to lessen the seasoning on the regular fries if it was too much for my kid. She didn't seem to mind, which is saying something! The Boss Sauces were all amazing, I don't know that I can pick a favorite. I need to try more before I make that choice.
John was literally the best. He made each of us feel welcomed and comfortable, and my kid wouldn't stop talking to both John and Matt all night in between bites. They didn't seem phased at all. They treated her just like anyone else and made the experience so much better than I could've asked for. I also appreciated everyone's enthusiasm when orders were ready for other patrons. They truly make everyone feel special and like they're family as soon as you walk in the door. We will absolutely be back. And I'm so glad to know I have a safe gluten free place to eat that's family friendly when I plan on dining out!
I also was told that the menu will be changing soon to include even more gluten free options, so I am VERY excited for that!
I'm sorry I didn't take any photos, we dug into the food too fast before I thought...
