First time visitor and I although I'm not a beer drinker, I was looking forward to trying this place out more for the atmosphere. Luckily we found an open parking space as someone was leaving, otherwise we would've had to park at the overflow lot which is a bit down the road. You search for your own table on a first come first serve basis, which was a first for us. We did luck out on finding an open table on the lower deck area where you can access the menu with a scan of a QR display (on each table). We did notice a sign when entering the restaurant that stated: please be prepared with your order before approaching the bar to order. There are no servers to take your order! A definite first for us. With only 2 bars (1 inside and 1 outside), the line to order was rather lengthy. Once your order is placed, you are given your drinks and a numbered metal sign for your table (so a server can locate your table). I placed the order while my husband stayed with the table so that we wouldn't "lose it" to another arriving party. While all the signs for ordering stated: all tabs can be open and closed at any bar location, I didn't know that you had to pay for your order BEFORE the next party in line could order! I quickly made my way back to our table to retrieve a credit card and then it started to rain. Our table was 1 of two without an umbrella and the rain started to come down a but harder. So with drinks in hand and our table sign we looked high and low for another table. Just as we were ready to cancel our dinner order, we found a table and I advised the outside bartender of our new location. I ordered cauliflower pizza (which was very good) and my husband ordered the Bavarian pretzel appetizer, a side salad and the 10 oz order of chicken tenders. The pretzel never arrived, the salad was good and the chicken tenders were actually chicken nuggets! The server actually said: here are your chicken nuggets. They looked like McDonald's chicken nuggets! When a menu says chicken TENDERS, I think most people would think they are ordering strips of chicken, not square mini nuggets. Disappointing is an understatement. The atmosphere is a nice setting. Much credit to the owners for taking advantage of the Cuyahoga River and utilizing space that was wasted before. I can't speak to the beer selection because I don't drink it. I wish the wine selection was a little more extensive and less expensive. I am not a fan of the order your own food. If that's the way it has been/will continue to be, please also advise patrons to not only have your order ready, but also your cash or credit card. I ordered our meal because I have a better memory than my husband 😉). But I rarely carry cash or credit cards. I am not sure how patrons could reserve their table and order their drinks/meals when you have to leave your table and wait in line to order. If you are a beer lover and Iike to enjoy eating outside, give it a try. Just be aware of the situation before you go. And as an fyi: well behaved dogs on leashes are welcome. Before the rain started, we initially sat next to 2 very quiet (1 large, 1 mid size), very well behaved...
Read moreWent to Missing Mountain for the first time this past Labor Day for lunch and drinks. It clearly stated on their site that they would be open from 12-8P, which was fantastic. We drove 90 minutes and got there at about 230 only to have the staff tell us that because it was raining and they were not busy, they had stopped serving food at 2P and would be closing at 3P. Excuse me? When we mentioned it said on their site 12-8P they quickly snapped back, "we posted on Instagram we would be closing earlier, didn't you see it?" Unreal. This is NOT how you run a business. The beer was good but that does not replace the poor business practice this establishment follows.
If you are going to be heading to this brewery (which I would not recommend) make sure you call ahead to see if they are making enough money to warrant keeping the doors open. I would also suggest calling if there are any clouds in the sky or precipitation since they may decide to close, even if they are scheduled to be open. Too many other good breweries in the area to waste time...
Read moreIf you've been wanting to try out this place, don't put it off any longer. We too, had been eyeing Missing Mountain Brewery for a while, and finally made time to go. Our only regret is not going sooner! We have found our new favorite spot!
Upon arrival we were greeted by some of the most genuinely friendly and kind folks. The views are stunning. Impeccably clean place. World class service. Great food and excellent drinks.
What added that extra wow factor, is the entire experience, including the service. The staff provided guidance and even samples of their crafts to ensure you would be happy with your choice. Once finished with a dish or glass, within seconds, a staff member cleared it from your table, even if you were not "seated on their section". Furthermore, no matter where you sit, there is a stunning view, so all you have to do is show up, bring great company, and unwind.
Truly one of the BEST experiences I've ever had.
We definitely will be back 💕. Great job Missing Mountain Brewery 🏞️. You have earned our...
