Shawarma Brothers has some of the finest Middle Eastern/Mediterranean food I've had nearly anywhere. Their gyro meat is absolutely fantastic, personally I recommend indulging in their garlic sauce rather than the traditional tzatziki, not because one is lacking but because the garlic sauce is amazing.
The falafel is excellent, best enjoyed fresh of course, and their hummus is incredible - I was truly astonished when I experienced it, I did not know hummus could have so delightful a texture and flavor.
The brothers who run the place and are there the majority of the time are fun and attentive, and if they are serving you you will not be hungry after finishing one of their wraps or bowls. Fair warning, if served by someone other than these two gentlemen, you may not get quite the same portion, merely an appropriate amount of meat rather than a true abundance. Regardless of that, the prices are so reasonable that you won't find a better value for delicious gyros,...
Read moreMy husband and I tried Shawarma Brothers for the first time on Friday after hearing great things. We were greeted warmly by the workers and they explained what was most popular and how their menu worked. I decided on the Chicken Shawarma Plate. We also got Hummas, falafel, and baklava to share. From the first bite, I was impressed. The chicken shawarma plate is so large it lasted 2 meals for me, but was so good I wanted to finish it in one sitting. The falafel was moist and flavorful, if you’ve tried falafel before and didn’t like it, try it here! Way better than any other I’ve had, and I love falafel. The hummas was also super flavorful. Everything was beautifully presented with garnish, which was a pleasant surprise with takeout!
That will not be our last visit. The chicken plate was very similar to Chipotle, with the quantity and different toppings. However, this was way better than any Chipotle bowl...
Read moreUnimpressed. The two girls working (shawarma sisters?) did not seem friendly at all. They were wearing masks, so it was hard to tell, but no small talk, all business. I was the only customer there.
The gyro, while extremely fresh (maybe minus the meat), was average in taste, at best. The meat was a bit dry and given in huge chunks.
Worse, I've been sick to my stomach for going on 24 hrs now. This thing has been a lump in my stomach since yesterday. A literal lump, that I can feel in my intestines.
The baklava was ok, nothing special.
No inside seating at all, which is annoying.
I know this seems like an attack on this shop specifically, but I was just disappointed. There are much better gyros to be had...
