We were silly to think we could just walk in to a brunch place on a Sunday before/after a holiday (the Sunday between Christmas and New Years) at 10 am. Silly, silly, silly. When we spoke with the hostess (who took and entered our name and number before being able to give us a wait time which felt a little weird) we were told 30-40 minutes. And we all know those estimates are hardly ever right. So we check the text that sent to us and there are 25 (!!) parties ahead of our little party of 2. Forlorn, we hover with the mass of people also waiting for their turn. There was a table with bar stools that was offered as a "first come, first served" option, but it didn't seem comfortable in any way. After nearly an hour of waiting, we were finally seated.
Our waitress was quick to take our drink orders, but it took a while for her to come back to check on us. The place was packed, so I guess that's to be expected.
I had the Hacienda Hash, and my boyfriend had the French Toast. Both were very good. His came with a fruit syrup that was very very good. And mine was really tasty, too.
Overall, for the price and considering the waiting time... I don't think we'll come here again. But it was good food and a...
Read moreGood food, ambiance, value: this place lacks it all. First, it's theplace to go for all those coming out of the gym next door, so you don't have to feel bad about wearing sweaty exercise clothes and leaving sweat stains on the furniture while you wait half an hour for a table. My party of three got two of our meals a good 10 minutes before the third, so we had plenty of time to contemplate. My avocado toast was certainly interesting. A couple stale ends of bread topped with an ice cream scoop size of avocado. The oils had separated, which added a nice gloss to what looked like mayonnaise mixed in. On the side was a pair of flabby, cold eggs that were not cooked to order. The server did ask whether I didn't like the eggs, and wound up knocking a couple bucks off the price, bringing it down to a mere 10 bucks, which is I guess the going rate for stale toast these days. Fortunately the place is loud enough I wasn't able to concentrate and dwell on things. They have one convenient station for both taking seating requests and paying, so you get to wait another 10 minutes with the gym crowd while the host flirts with the hotties. If you hate money as much as you hate food, this is totally the...
Read moreI reduced a star. Mainly the prices and the food was cold and the area I was eating in was unkept. I just had an very nice interview with Courtney. I haven't been to First Watch in awhile. The atmophere is still very freindly and courteous. The breakfast eating area is still very clean and well mannered. What I could see of the backroom looks very well managed. I do enjoy First Watch's flapjacks and sauage and I also enjoy the thermos brimmed full of coffee. I love farm fresh eggs. I worked partime for an organic based farm back in Sterling NY back in 2000. Farm fresh eggs are just fabluous. I can liken it to a tomato grown in your garden as compared to one bought at a store out of season. The difference is reamarkable. I will stop back to First Watch for more of their flapjacks and sausage. Coment edited from 5 years ago because of price. I have made numerous comments that have actual older prices. edited I have been to First Watch on 4 separate occasions . Twice I have enjoyed. Once was good and the fourth time service was poor and the meal was cold. The two times I enjoyed the meal more for the service...
