What a GEM! We love this place and can't wait to return. First time we tried it was about a year ago and it was to take to our family's home. Even as take-out, it was fabulous. We're sad it took so long to return but we finally made it back a few days ago and it did not disappoint. The french onion soup is some of the best I've ever had. I make it at home and know how long it takes and how much quality ingredients make the difference. It's obvious there's so much love and quality that goes into it. It's a generous portion that's easy to eat - the cheese isn't super stringy like you'll find in many places. The broth is rich with flavor with a slight peppery kick to it. Amazing! My husband had the meatballs and loved them. I had the salmon in puff pastry on a very generous portion of risotto with a lobster cream sauce. I never have trouble finishing meals but my husband had to help me with this one. It can easily feed 2 people. It's huge, rich, flavorful and cooked to perfection. My only criticism would be that it was a teeny bit salty for me but I don't like a lot of salt in my food. It's likely on point for most others. We were full but my husband insisted on dessert so he ordered what I think is the chocolate lava cake. It was fantastic!
Right on par with the delicious food was the fantastic service by Kenny. Great service will make a meal that much more enjoyable and he was not only attentive but super friendly.
The special treat was getting to talk to the chef from Boston, my favorite city for great food. We loved getting to know a little history of the restaurant and learning that many people in their family are chefs.
With the lovely drive there, the charming atmosphere, superior service, DELICIOUS food and reasonable pricing, we will absolutely be back and I highly recommend Le Garden Bistro! Oh one more thing... I called mid day the same day for an early reservation and the phone just kept ringing. About 10 mins later I got a call from the restaurant saying there was a missed call. It's all in the attention to detail! Please, if you're a foodie and notice that the severe lack of unique, fabulous food in the Wesley Chapel and New Tampa area, you needn't look any further than Le...
Read moreWhat a wonderful addition to the dining fare in Dade City. This was our first experience at Le Garden and it certainly met our expectations and then some. Having read a number of reviews prior to our visit, the bar was pretty high as to what to expect. We were not disappointed! This Bistro is awesome with both inside and outdoor seating in a very comfortable setting. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and gives off a very welcoming atmosphere. As was well reviewed, the French Onion soup was absolutely delicious. I had the 12oz Ribeye as an entre and it was well prepared and tastefully presented in a smooth sauce surrounded by roasted carrots and fries. From start to finish the meal was truly a pleasant dining experience. Our waitress, Dolce, was friendly and accommodating and sharing our pleasure with the chefs who prepared our meal added to our enjoyment. To say that we would recommend this restaurant would be an understatement, if you're planning a trip close to Dade City, Florida please put this Bistro on your must visit list. I'm certain that you will not be disappointed and will come away as pleased as we were. We're already making our choice of entre for...
Read moreFrom a cuisine perspective, the food was impeccable. Such a departure from what you'd expect from an eatery in Dade City, Le Garden Bistro truly stands out as a restaurant option. Perhaps it was because there was only one person in the kitchen, but the wait for the food was long. However, totally worth it given how exquisite the dishes were. The dinners are appropriately priced given the complexity of the meals and plated beautifully. However, given the cost, I would expect a higher level of formality than what I observed in our server. He was friendly and attentive, but his demeanor felt more Beef O'Brady's than the poshier atmosphere of Le Garden. My only real complaint is there is a cash price and a higher credit card price when you get the check. For a restaurant that charges $35 to $40 per entré to pass the credit card processing fee into the patron is ridiculous. Accepting plastic is a cost of doing business, and it smacks of arrogance and tone-deafness to think people going out to eat in Dade City are going to be walking around with $200 - $300 cash for dinner. This cost management strategy is the reason I'll likely not go back (although, again, the food...
