Edit to acknowledge response: While I commend you for sticking up for your employee, I was there. She had asked if I could do half mozzarella sticks and half green beans and the cook said they're already divided. I don't know when you're policy actually changed but I've never had a problem with the nice gentleman in the front ordering... so cuddos for everyone sticking up for her, but I didn't appreciate it. I went here often... I tell everyone to go because of the great service... but she was rude and condescending. She wouldn't even repeat the the question to the cook to rephrase it. It's whatever though. There are plenty of wonderful restaurants in Dade city that I don't need to worry about one that don't like making their customers satisfied, making them order things they don't eat or pay extra to order separately.
I don't know who you have answering your phone today, but she hung up on me the first time acting like she couldn't hear me, then gave me a hard time when I called back. I've never had any problems ordering the 3 combo with 2 green beans and 1 mozzarella sticks. She admitted that she was new but couldn't about she may be wrong. The way she was explain it to the cook was that I wanted to only pick 2 on the pick 3. She wouldn't let me talk to anybody else, not even the cook to explain it correctly. Just kept saying she said they couldn't do it. I'm not going to order something I don't want just to complete the combo... really? Found somewhere else to eat today... and probably...

We started with the sampler platter—a delicious trio of mushrooms, onion rings, and pepperoni bombs. Each bite was crisp, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The selection of dipping sauces was impressive, and we especially enjoyed the hot honey, marinara, and ranch—they added just the right kick and variety.
Next up was the 12-inch Philly Cheese Steak, and wow—what a winner. Packed with flavor and incredibly satisfying, it was one of the best we've had in the area. We capped off the meal with a fun treat: funnel fries, which were sweet, crunchy, and a delightful finish to our feast. Our only suggestion is to offer raspberry, strawberry, or kumquat jam dipping sauce.
The kitchen crew was not only skilled but also charming and entertaining, adding a personal touch that made the experience even more memorable. The manager was a true gem—gracious, attentive, and genuinely happy to see us enjoying ourselves.
If you’re looking for delicious food, a cheerful vibe, and top-notch service, American Pizza Oven is a must-visit. Whether you are a Veteran, a military family, or not, you are guaranteed to enjoy a delicious meal at a great price. We can’t wait to return!

Read moreWe chose to dine in for our first visit to APO. You pick up a menu at the counter, take to your table, then go back & order at the counter. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Only a handful of tables (maybe 10), but we arrived about 5pm and easily had a choice of where to sit. By the time we left, people were waiting for others to leave so they could sit down. They were very busy with a lot of carryout orders, too. The pizza arrived at our table pretty quick and was hot & delicious. Plenty of toppings and the crust was how we like it - thin but not cracker hard. We also enjoyed their Cesar salad before the pizza came out. They do use paper plates, which isn't a problem for us, but I would suggest they use a better quality. We prefer using a fork, so after a few times cutting the pizza slice with the edge of the metal fork the paper plate had tears in it. We definitely will have APO pizza again, but will probably do carryout. Parking can be an issue (street parking only) but not bad enough to stop us from...
