We've eaten at the Jefferson and Clarkesville locations many many times and love it but your Dawsonville location is hands down the worst service we've ever had anywhere. FYI I'm a restaurant DM myself so I know how food service can be sometimes but this was unbelievable. It was 3:20 on a Saturday afternoon when we arrived. Waited 10 mins for drinks after we placed the order, then waited 25 mins for our food. When the food was brought out my husband was brought nachos not the El Cazuelon like ordered. The person, which we didnt know was the manager, brought his food out about 5 mins later. We told him the tortillas were missing and needed a knife. After 10mins my husband got up and told him he still needed them. The manager said "I've already put that on your table". Obviously he hadn't so he finally went and got them. The tortillas were so hard you wouldn't want to eat them. By that time his food was cold. He ate half of one tortilla with steak and rice. The server walked over to check on us so we told her the food was cold and she said "I'm sorry for that" and walked off! When we went to pay my husband asked for the manager and that's when the guy who was serving us said he was manager! Lord help this location with him in charge. He said "I'm not giving you food for free since you ate some of it." Really!? 2 bites!! And it's only cold cause of him to being with! Whoever put this guy in charge has made a huge mistake or desperate. We finally checked...
Read moreWe have been going to El Jinete almost every week since we moved to Dawsonville two years ago. The service has always been good, and the food was delicious. More importantly, the prices were good. However, recently the service has been slacking. It’s okay, but sometimes it’s slow just to get drinks and usually one of our items is forgotten until we remind the waiter of it. They also turned off the TV in the middle of our meal one night because we were talking about the dog show while still eating, and it was getting late. We completely understand that people don’t live there and they needed to go, but we left a good tip, as always, and it was only five minutes past closing. Today was the final straw. Our food was good, as usual, but when we got the bill it was $68. I was absolutely flabbergasted. $14 for a large cheese dip is outrageous, and not a single price reflected the menu’s price. Even if menu prices have changed and we just got an old menu, to see an almost double increase in cheese dip price is shocking. I understand that the restaurant has a surcharge for using a card, but it’s applied at the end, not on every item. We also ordered a fajita taco salad, so I’m not sure what the upcharge on the chicken was for. All in all, the price was not worth the food or service at all. It seems it’s time for us to change our regular...
Read moreAbsolute worst place I have eaten. The food is ok the decor is like 1980 style dining. The waiter we had acted like he was angry we were there. The price is outrageous for what we ordered. For 3 people to eat it was over $90. The cheese dip was not that good it was grainy and tasted like it was going bad. The tea was soured my son and could not drink it. The plate I ordered had chicken steak and chorizo the steak was a very thin piece of meat it was so thin you could see through it the chicken was overcooked and dry. The wings my son ordered were overcooked and tasted like they were going bad. The only thing that was somewhat good was my wife's fajitas it was ok. If you complained about anything the waiter would get angry. When we went to pay we had to ask for our bill and the older waiter sent the younger waiter over with the bill and that guy just showed the bill in my wife's hands and walked away. And they have hidden fees. If you pay with a card it's a $4 service fee. I would never recommend this place to anyone Saturday was our first and last time eating...
