Waffle House — Restaurant in Georgia

I don't think there is such a thing as a bad experience you can have at any Waffle House, they are like Chick-fil-A in many senses, great friendly staff, quick fast service, and good consistent food.

The Dawsonville Waffle House is one of the best, surpassing even the excellent service I am used to at the other locations. I was greeted as I walked in the door and found the restaurant clean and neat inside with plenty of staff. As I selected a seat I was handed a menu and given silverware as my drink order was taken. Thirty seconds after I walked in I had my drink at my table and was placing my order.

My order was cooked to my specification and on my table in less than five minutes while my tea was refilled. As usual, my order was perfect and just as I had ordered it. I even had the cook and one of the wait staff ask how my order was in addition to being asked by my designated waitress.

I am always amazed at the efficiency of the staff at Waffle House, they stay busy and have constant orders but are always accurate and quick. The staff is always happy and friendly, you wonder how some places manage to find employees that seem to be passionate about doing their job While at other businesses it is hard to get staff to act as if they care. We came in on a Sunday morning and were greeted by Grace. She was incredibly rude when we asked to if it was possible to wait for a booth rather than take chair seats. After remarking that we would just have to wait to have the table cleaned off, she was told by her coworkers to clean the table herself (which she made a fuss about). Even after we were seated, she was rude and entirely uninviting to those coming in. She spent our entire meal running around trying to gossip with coworkers, screaming and running behind the counter, and attempting to be as unproductive as possible. Elizabeth, though, was fantastic and took our order immediately, as our waitress was on her break. She was so kind and efficient and was working during our entire visit. Our food came out quickly and was wonderful. As we were leaving, I asked Grace what her name was, as I hadn’t been able to read her name tag up to that point. She whipped around and said it was “Natalie” (as I read her tag that clearly said “Grace”) and asked why I wanted to know. Obviously she knew she had not been acting as she should have. We were absolutely stared down as we left. While our meal was great, Grace created a divisive dynamic amongst the staff and an unpleasant environment to dine in. I came in for Breakfest on Saturday morning around 7:00 am.. . I was by my self and there wasnt that many people in there ahead of me The service was horrible . The food was cold . I watched my food sit at the grill for 10 min getting cold . The waitrrss Allison looked as if she had no odea what she was doing or who she was supposed to be waiting on. The family beside me was even complaing . The cheese on my hash browns wasnt even hot amd the waffle was also cold the butter wouldnt even melt . .,I waited on a staw for my orange juice for 10 min after I ordered my food . I asked the lady for hot food and she said thats the way it comes . I will not be back for sure . . I have never received such horrible service .
