It was really just okay (and that's being generous) I said $10-$20 per person, but my Texas fajitas were $20, so right on the edge. They were steak, chicken and shrimp mixed together and only the shrimp was any good. Everyone at the table agreed their chicken was very overcooked. The "guacamole" they serve with the meals, would be more aptly named "avocado puree". The queso(cheese dip, as it was called on the menu) with ground beef we ordered, was WAY more beef than queso. It was like just scooping up beef that was slightly cheese flavored. But the worst part of the meal was that we were all swatting away flies throughout the entire meal. I don't know where they were coming from, but it felt like we were eating outside. The service was pretty good, but that's all that was pretty good there.

Good restaurant, food was nothing exceptional but was yummy and filling. The staff was very attentive and provided perfect service. Good prices ranging from $7-$20 per person depending what you order. Plenty of alcoholic choices. They have TVs that we’re playing sports or a border patrol show. Not sure if it was just the time we ate there but it seems popular among the older community because every customer there appeared to be over 60. Overall, I’ve had better Mexican food but this was not bad by any means.

Very large menu! However I didn’t see what I wanted, steak tacos with cilantro and onion. The menu states it comes with lettuce and cheese….but it doesn’t. It comes with cilantro and onion. Confusing, but I got what I wanted. Our server kind of just disappeared at the end, but again other servers saw us looking around and came to help out pretty quickly. The food was amazing, which is what I care about at the end of the day and why I still give this place four stars.

This is an updated review after several return trips for dinner. The service has been utterly FANTASTIC and amazing on each of our return trips while our orders have all been delivered fast and completely accurate.

The food has always been amazing here and our only downside was the order accuracy and service during busy times but we must say they seem to have improved on all of the things we found issue with on our first visit.

This past week I have probably referred at least five couples, telling them each that El Campesino is by far and above our favorite Mexican Cuisine in the area. Figured it was high time to update our review!!

We visited El Campesino with friends for a dinner on a busy Friday night. We were seated very quickly and our server was very attentive and fast.

We ordered drinks and they were brought out promptly and were correct with what we ordered. They were also very good and as our drinks arrived they brought corn chips and salsa for the table.

We ordered an appetizer of Queso and it was very good. We had asked for jalapenos on the side but they were forgotten. When our entrees were brought out to the table (which was super quick and fast) All four of our orders were prepared incorrectly with either incorrect ingredients or missing ingredients.

The food we did receive was fresh, served hot and was very good. We actually enjoyed our meals and I would definitely go back with the quality of the food and the cleanliness of the restaurant. If they had not prepared our orders with a 100% error ratio I would have given them FIVE full stars between the service and the taste of the food. But, I would have rather waited five or ten more minutes for our orders to be correct versus...

A friend and I decided to go to El Campesino for lunch today. Never again!! We both ordered a #5, simple enough a taco, burrito, and rice. Our waitor seemed aggravated or pretended he didn't understand us when we requested bean burritos instead of beef and tomato on my taco. When our food arrived, the red sauce on the burrito was horrible tasting neither of us could take more than a couple bites. Also our taco meat tasted like dog food and the shell was moist with grease, literally flopping over when it's supposed to be a hard shell! We were both very unsatified with our meals so we requested that he take off the price of the burritos on our ticket, he gave us another aggravated/ confused look and turned around to fix our ticket of a whopping $16(sarcasm). He was helpful enough not to argue and lowered our price to just over $12. We were both thankful for that considering the condition of our meals. While paying at the register, he came over and stood next to me at the exit door speaking in spanish to the cashier. Something went wrong with my card and the cashier asked for a different one, that was weird I thought but I gladly gave him a different card that worked. The cashier snickered along with our waitor and I heard "Declined" and he showed the waitor the computer screen. Seems like they were mocking me for having a bad card. I left feeling sick to my stomach, not sure if it was from the horrible food or the distasteful service. Won't be going back...

I love this place. However, they don’t close for another hour and staff is acting as if we are keeping them. There is a staff member blowing the floors as there are multiple families trying to enjoy their dinner. YES, actually using an electric leaf blower to clean the floors! There is dust and who knows what else being expelled all over us and our food. Not to mention, it is so loud, we can’t even have a conversation. Like I said, I love this place, and been coming here for years. Food is great, drinks are awesome, and I love the atmosphere. I was in the restaurant industry for years, and worked at many establishments in different cities. I know the staff wants to get home, but as I said, they don’t close for another hour. This is a huge No-No at any establishment because it makes your patrons feel as if they are an inconvenience and or burden. I hope that this review will be seen by management and they can correct the ship. They have a lot of competition in the area. I can name 4 other Mexican restaurants that are located within a square mile of this location. I would hate for them to loose faithful patrons due...
