I dined at Dok Khao Thai Eatery and had an enjoyable experience overall. Here is a breakdown of my experience based on different aspects:
โข Food Quality: The taste of the food at Dok Khao Thai Eatery was truly outstanding. Among the Thai restaurants I've been to, this place stands out with its authentic and flavorful dishes. The use of fresh ingredients was evident, enhancing the overall taste. The presentation of the dishes was satisfactory, although it could have been more visually appealing. The portion sizes were good enough, providing a satisfying meal.
โข Service: The service at Dok Khao Thai Eatery was satisfactory. The staff was attentive and responsive to our needs. While the service could have been more attentive and friendlier, it did not significantly impact the overall dining experience.
โข Ambience and Atmosphere: The ambiance of the restaurant was quite good. Located just outside the restaurant is a park for children, making it a happening place. The decor followed a green theme, which added a pleasant touch to the overall dining experience.
โข Cleanliness: Both the dining area and restrooms at Dok Khao Thai Eatery were well-maintained and clean. The cleanliness of the restaurant contributed to a comfortable dining environment.
โข Price and Value for Money: Dok Khao Thai Eatery is priced at a moderate level ($$). Considering the quality of the food and the overall experience, the pricing is fair and offers good value for money.
โข Menu Variety and Special Dietary Options: The restaurant offers a good variety of Thai cuisine, catering to different preferences. They also have a decent selection of vegetarian options, making it suitable for those with special dietary requirements.
โข Beverage Selection: Dok Khao Thai Eatery has a good range of beverages to choose from. The quality of the drinks served was satisfactory and complemented the flavors of the food.
โข Wait Time: One downside of my experience was the wait time. We had to wait for quite a while to be seated, which was a bit inconvenient. Additionally, it took some time for our food to be served, which slightly affected the overall experience.
โข Accessibility and Facilities: The restaurant provides free public parking, which is convenient for guests. It is also wheelchair accessible, ensuring that everyone can dine comfortably. Furthermore, the presence of a children's playground adjacent to the restaurant makes it a family-friendly establishment.
In conclusion, Dok Khao Thai Eatery offers a great taste among Thai restaurants with fresh and well-presented dishes. The service is satisfactory, and the ambiance is pleasant, especially with the nearby children's park. The cleanliness of the restaurant is commendable, and the pricing offers good value for money. With a variety of menu options, including vegetarian choices, and a good selection of beverages, there is something for everyone. However, be prepared for potential wait times. Overall, it is a worthwhile dining destination, especially for Thai food...
ย ย ย Read moreThe girlfriend and I stopped here on our way back from a weekend trip to DC for some late lunch.
Honestly I wasn't super impressed, and I absolutely love Thai food.
I got the Dok Khao Pad Thai which is a Pad Thai but slightly modified for their own special house version. I ordered it because that sounds super interesting and I've never seen a variation like that before, but it wasn't impressive. Pad Thai is such a wonderful and unique dish, but they just made it taste boring, mostly just soy sauce flavor, like any other dish. The chicken was also a bit dry. I wished I had just ordered a regular Pad Thai instead, it would have been more exciting. At least I requested no peanuts and they listened.
My girlfriend ordered the Jungle Lover. I tried some of it, too. The fried tofu that it came with was also kind of boring and flavorless. But the real problem was that it was ridiculous how spicy the sauce was. Don't get me wrong, I can eat just about anything in terms of spiciness. But my girlfriend's tolerance isn't superhuman and this dish was just way too spicy for something ordered at "stock" spiciness. This tasted like something you might get if you ordered 2 or 3 star "Thai" spicy at any normal Thai restaurant. That's inedible to most people. My girlfriend powered through it but she wasn't thrilled. :(
The bathroom was also a bit of a problem. It's weird that there's glass on the door and anybody can kind of see your only semi-opaque silhouette if you're in there doing your business. But the worst part was.... there was some old doo-doo ground into the floor right in front of the toilet! Nasty!! Come on.
All that said, the service was great and friendly, and the water kept flowing. If only my girlfriend didn't need to drink so much of it since her face was melting off. :(
Overall, I don't see much...
ย ย ย Read moreThis is not the first time we have dined in here. Weโve checked out this place during their opening and we understood the whole new restaurant challenges at that time. Fast forward, we came again since we were in the area and completely got disappointed with our dining experience.
We came in 10 minutes early and the lobby door was open. A staff told us theyโre not open yet so I asked if we could please wait at the lobby as I pointed the tuffed bench since we were parked far and itโs freezing cold outside. She said No, they have to clean the lobby so we have to go outside. This was 10 minutes before hours of operation, the lobby seemed fine to us and didnโt look dirty. We were like why open the lobby when you are not going to allow anyone to step in, naturally , diners will come in.so we stepped out , waited 10 minutes outside and we didnโt see her clean the lobby so we felt like she just lied to us for what? The first impression was already ruined by this particular staff.
So we were seated, it took a while before someone came to help us, The waitress who served us was pretty friendly. A couple of the staff including the one who denied us seating at the lobby area was already having lunch 30 minutes after opening at the bar, meanwhile we kept looking at their directions just to ask for ice and water. Is this an okay practice during early operation when servers are needed on the floor?
This is a beautiful restaurant no doubt, But Our experience was not pleasant, for a $85 lunch for 2,this is one worst dining experience. The staff needs a better training with customer service. If I own this restaurant, I will not allow my staff to be rude or ruin my business by some incompetent staff.
I am usually prett positive with my establishment reviews but I almost felt their management has to know if they are unaware...
