To Quinn’s Goldsmith Jewelry Inc.,
I would like to take a moment to express my deepest appreciation for the wonderful customer service I recently received at Quinn’s Goldsmith Jewelry Inc. in Woodbridge / Occoquan, VA. The owner, Terry and the staff go above and beyond to make their customers happy. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the market for nice jewelry or jewelry repairs. From the moment you walk in the door, you will be greeted and treated as if you are one of their family members. They are caring, honest, kind, and there are no annoying sales pitches or the feeling as if you are getting ripped off. They will take care of you from the beginning to the end, and really get to know their customers. I have full trust in this place and do not have any uneasy feelings that I’m being cheated or scammed.
My most recent experience at Quinn’s was great. My wife’s wedding ring was unfortunately ran over by a car (very long story, but grateful her ring was found and turned in by a nice patron), so I had visited several jewelry shops in the Woodbridge area considering the jeweler where I bought her ring 8+ years ago has since closed. All of the jewelers stated the head of the ring needed to be replaced and the average estimate was around $500-600.
My fear and trust was restored when I was blessed to talk with the owner Terry, who was extremely nice, knowledgeable, and walked me through all my options. Terry is the only jeweler who stated that he could repair the current head on my wife’s ring for a minimal cost and the ring would look just as it was before it was ran over, if not better. His honestly and affirmation made me have trust in him. He was honest and up front from the beginning. He also gave me the option to replace the head, as the current one was not designed the way it should of been. After he explained to me in detail and example drawings, I went with his recommendation and replaced the head
It is a heartfelt blessing to find someone in the jewelry industry so honest and caring. Thank you to Terry and the Quinn’s staff who are honest, thoughtful and caring professionals. I will be shopping with you for many future purchases as my experience...
Read moreLet me preface this by saying I don’t like buying jewelry in the states, I’d rather buy abroad. I wanted to get something for the hubby for Vday. I didn’t have a particular type of jewelry in mind, just wanted to see all options. I didn’t have a number ($) in mind but knew and was prepared to spend a few to several thousand. Looked for local places and based on reviews decided on Quinn’s. An older lady with blond/grey hair offered to assist me. Mind you, I myself, am an older lady. Right away she brings me over to the estate/previously owned case. I didn’t think much of it and asked if she had new pieces. She did, and directed me to them. As I’m looking she says something about the price and then it hits me!….the microaggression! We are conversing about the jewelry but her manner is suspect. She kept assuming or implicating whatever in her little head. She says we have a 50% off section, what’s the budget? or we have financing not said successively but sprinkled in ever so smugly. At this point I don’t even look at her and just simply said I wouldn’t need to finance, I would pay in full. She continues to fish and by now I know who my player is and I’m done with her. It’s obvious that while some of her questions are standard sales protocols, it was definitely her tone and demeanor that suggested otherwise. I don’t go looking for issues but you know if you know… some of you won’t understand or get it. And I saw reviews from people that looked like me soooo… maybe they were assisted by someone else. Idk but she left a bad taste in my mouth and I spent my money elsewhere. Btw, no other sales person from the several places I went in, asked or behaved like this woman. She definitely was micoaggressive.
2/15- reply to owner - When I arrived one other customer was on her way out and there was actually another sales person up front (she had black hair) who wasn’t servicing anyone. So I was the only customer up front. I can appreciate that you will “train” however, you can’t train out her biases; she is who she is. It’s really exhausting having to endure the behaviors that have to be “trained”. I can’t see myself coming back to “test” how I’ll be viewed/treated. Thanks...
Read moreQuinn’s was recommended to me for appraisal of some family rings.
When I went there I told the lady at the counter what I was there for and she said she could do the appraisal.
I put two rings on the tray and then she told me how much it would be for one ring and the additional one. She looked at the one ring then turned to an associate who told me she was the gemologist.
I mentioned that at some point I would have a necklace made that lady who first looked at the ring asked why I would get an appraisal if I wanted to have a necklace made? I explained that I wasn’t going to have a necklace made at that time.
I was not comfortable leaving the ring so I said I would like it done today to which they told me a different price and I could pick it up before COB.
I asked if I could make an appointment but I felt like they were in a hurry to serve other customers who would be making a purchase and that my appraisal was not worth their time. Someone prior had made a purchase of $5,000+.
I was disappointed in how they approached the whole situation and would think that each customer whether you are buying a piece or jewelry or want an appraisal done would be given the same respect.
I doubt I will be going back...
