Experienced racism on July 3rd around 10:30am. As a black man, I would think you wouldn’t have to still experience this in almost 2023. My girlfriend and I entered All Good Cafe around 10:30am. There was one white couple in front of us and there was a wait. The white man, kinda heavyset sat them at a table for 6 after about 7 mins of waiting and asked us if we wanted to sit at the table with them since they only had two. My girlfriend didn’t want to so we declined. Next thing you know we’re waiting for 15 minutes and a white couple of three comes about 10 mins after we did. The host never comes back but they get sat by some random server before us at a table for 4 after a couple of two got up from that table of 4 about 5 mins prior. They only waited about 5 mins. After almost 20 mins of still waiting I go find the male host and tell him hold on we’ve been waiting for almost 20 mins and you sat a group of 2 at a table for 6, a group of 3 at table of 4, and I’ve seen at least 3 couples of white people sitting at tables for 4. There’s an apparent issue here, and a blind person can see it. There was an another open table for 6 the entire time we were waiting and the one for 4 opened up about 15 mins into our wait and we were intentionally bypassed so that they could sit a white party that came at least 10 mins after us. At this point, my girlfriend and I are looking foolish in front of the entire small restaurant. They weren’t following the rule that the exact number of people have to sit at table with same amount of chairs until it got to us because we wouldn’t accommodate them and share a table with another party when he asked. He inquired, it wasn’t a demand that we must or prepare to be embarrassed and bypassed for next 20 potentially plus minutes. Granted he never even asked the white couple of 3 that came after us if they wanted to share the table for 6 like he did for us, and I know this because he never came to speak to them, he just told someone else to sit them before us. This caused us to wait for almost 20 mins in front of everyone while people were sat that arrived after us before us. When I addressed this with him, he had nothing but excuses for why there were other couples sitting at tables with less people than the allotted chairs. I knew it was in fact racism and/or simply because we as a black couple didn’t accommodate his request to share a table of 6 with another couple. Sad experience, I won’t be back and will advise my other black friends and family not to visit this...

BORRACHO BISCUIT $12.99 Buttermilk biscuit ladled with homemade gravy, topped with two sausage patties, an over-easy egg, covered with queso, sprinkled with pico de gallo, bacon bits, jalapeños, and a few slices of avocado.
The Meal: The portion ratio of the entire plate was incredible, nothing too little or too much. Presentation was spectacular, I was expecting an oozing breakfast sandwich, but instead I got something better. The eggs were not seasoned at all and for the first time ever; that was likely to be the best move for this dish with the opposing elements. Bacon and sausage are high in sodium and it oozes once cooked. If you’re not careful, you’ll have a salty and unenjoyable breakfast and that’s never good. The biscuit itself held up very well with the massive drizzle of hot queso and sunny side up egg. No sogginess, just soft, buttery goodness.
The fresh toppings were chopped and NOT defrosted. The burst of flavors independently and collectively were outstanding. You can taste each element bite by bite, which I was impressed by. I’m not a fan of avocado, so when I saw it came on my plate, I immediately removed it. Eventually, I changed my mind and decided to try the avocado as the meal intended. It was very light. Creamy, fresh, and served a great purpose. Overall, the placement of each element was well thought out and any concerns I had for texture and taste decimated. The meal was executed nicely.
The Atmosphere: Texas is very deceitful when it comes to the weather. The patio isn’t bad at all, but the shade couldn’t even save us from sweating. The view of Deep Ellum is rather decent if you like watching the cars pass and pet owners walk. However, I do recommend sitting inside for weather purposes. It’s feasible for Spring time.
The Service: This was halfway decent, the server changed a few times prior to having a solid server. My manager and I seemed to be forgotten a few times, but for the most part it wasn’t the worst service I’ve received.
FINAL GRADE: (B -) The lower grade is caused by 2 reasons. One, the menu should list ALL toppings and garnishes. I was not a fan of the surprise avocado on my plate. Yes, it worked out fine, but someone can easily be very allergic to a particular ingredient. This can be avoided by listing all the ingredients under the meal on the menu. The servers should also work on giving customers the adequate amount of time; we were asked if we were ready several times without getting a...
Read moreGood vibe, Deep Ellum, so of course it’s eclectic. We had the world famous chicken fried steak: it was good, not really world famous and only came with plain mashed potatoes. Not even gravy on the mash…. Also the HOT fried chicken sandwich: Its a dry rub instead of a sauce . Chicken was tender and juicy. Tomatoes sliced perfectly, not too thin or thick. Tasted fresh as well. The bun is too big for this sandwich. Its also chicken tenders and not a thigh or small breast. Lastly the masterpiece of their version of a grilled cheese: OMG!!!!! Green chili, tomato chutney (a bit sweet for me, but a nice contrast to the spicy chili). Chili was SPICY and made this sandwich. The sour dough was lightly toasted with the perfect bite. I have had some amazing grilled cheese and this is top 5. It would have slid into 1st if they added bacon!!! Cuz damn that was a great sandwich!!! Now the service………. I had to get up and get the remaining needed silverware and menus. It was past lunch rush, 130-2p with a couple at a table and one man on the patio, so not busy. Waitress was very slow but the food was promptly served and was hot. They dont have fried foods (fries) so the sandwich side was chips and salsa. Chips were fresh and crispy. Salsa was spot on with the spice. They must roast the peppers or tomatoes or both, as i didnt prefer the taste. The other person at our table loved it though. The rating of 4 is due to the Green Chili...
