I’m not excited to admit that I’ve been down in spirits and luck enough lately that many of my bills have been too much to handle, my electricity bill being one of them. Realizing one night that my power was cut, I also realized that I needed to find a place to charge my almost-dead phone so I could have an alarm to get me to work on time the next day. So I went to the first place I thought of that I could walk to and that would be open late - Cafe Brazil. I’ve enjoyed it a number of times before, and I appreciate their variety of vegan options to accommodate my lifestyle and the chill environment. Going in there to just use a power outlet and being too broke to buy anything, I was nervous about requesting a chair - but the guy I ran into first, Tracy, was quick to say no worries and let me grab a spot. I’ve been coming here every night for about a week after that now and no one’s ever been unkind, and they’ve always grabbed me some much-needed water to keep me hydrated in this July heat in Texas. This particular night, and the reason I wanted to write this review, Tracy brought me out a pancake! I was thrilled, as I was just lamenting to myself earlier that I had only eaten a couple slices of watermelon today. I hadn’t been able to sleep last night and I was afraid that today’s hunger was going to make it hard to sleep tonight as well. But Tracy took that problem away. I had to let him know, however, that I couldn’t eat it, as it wasn’t vegan. He kindly took the pancake back and cooked up some tacos which he just made the recipe up for off the cuff. He asked me to let him know how they were and they were excellent!! I took a picture of two-and-a-half out of the three because I was so eager to chow down that I forgot to get the pic before I started enjoying the first one. But it was super tasty, filling and an absolute blessing! I used to be an atheist but nowadays I tend to think there is a God out there who cares about us and works through us sometimes to take care of us when we need it most. Tracy must be a hard worker because I’ve seen him up here every day for about a week straight, and obviously he has a heart of gold. I will be sure and bring some money up here for him to be paid for it once I’ve got my bank account back up. Having such good work ethic and such a caring spirit, I hope he has a pay raise or promotion soon, and I hope he is fortunate in all he does going forward - I really believe he deserves it!...

We walked in and they didn't even acknowledge us (that should have already been a sign but we paid over $6 for parking for one hour in their lot). This young girl with short hair looked at us and completely walked passed us to the table next to them to assist them, to the point I had to interfere and ask for menus.
Waited another x-amount of minutes to the point I got up to approached the counter where all the servers were congregating amongst each other to ask for a highchair and drinks.
While all this was going on, another table had sat after us and already had gotten drinks and by the time we actually got our partial drink order, the couple that sat after us already received their food (keep in mind my children ate hungry). We waited over 20 minutes to interrupt to be acknowledged.
When the young guy took our drink order he came back with my daughter's juice, a kids water (my son ordered a kids coke), and I ordered a water (never got my water). He also took my kids order and got that wrong too. He came back with 2 orders of kids pancakes. I asked for one kids pancakes with a side of bacon, and a kids French toast with bacon..
There's no point to even mention our order because after not bringing out my children's correct order, I got up and cancelled mine and my husband's order and asked for the check.
He came back and said don't worry about it that they'll take care of it. I was like we don't want anything free we just wanted good service and an enjoyable meal (neither happened).
He went and brought me the check and still charged me for two children's meals when they only ate one of the pancake plats because my daughter didn't want it. That once again, I had to get his attention and charge me correctly.
I swear that dude was higher that a f'n kite that he swears he can remember what a customer ordered (he didn't write anything down).
I use to love coming here and bringing friends and clients but after this experience...NEVER F'N AGAIN!!!!!
All of this is coming from an ex-server who has never treated a paying customer bad. I've always treated customers the same way I wanted to be treated in any...
Read moreWent to grab some breakfast here and was a bit disappointed. This is more of a late night joint so it’s usually jumping with people later in the day/night. I’ve been for late night eats before.
We walked right in, no wait, and were told by the guys behind the counter to grab menus to sit wherever we liked. Cool by me.
We sat near the window out of the way. The tables were cleared off but a bit sticky and so were the menus. There was a small, straight, reddish or burgundy hair in my menu smh. The waitress was nice and came to take our order about 10mins later.
Alright. Still giving it a go. Waitress comes back with the food and drops the entire order, less one plate all over. She tried to bring all the food out at once with a little help from another person. It was very hot and with no tray. The only plate we asked for eggs with no cheese, welp it had cheese. We asked for the entire order to be remade. The other person helping her helped clean up while she collected herself. It’s an honest mistake.
We get the new food quickly. The cook in the back was quick with orders. We could see him from where we were sitting. No direct hit at him. I think this is more at the ingredients. The eggs tasted like egg substitute which is fine but I see why they put cheese, otherwise no taste. I had French toast. It literally tasted like bread. I put syrup on twice and it was not good.
The waitress and all the staff encountered were nice. Well, the waitress was up until we declined to go boxes with quite a bit of food left on the table and asked for the check. She brought my card and the receipt to sign without saying thank you. While I did tip her for effort I’m sure others would not have.
I’m sure this is not consistent of every day or time. I’d say I wouldn’t go for breakfast and probably won’t go back to...
