In DFW for the week for work. On a late night with not many options we opted for Velvet Tacos. It rated well and I’ve not met too many tacos I didn’t like. Unfortunately it was after and not before that the following occurred to me: craft tacos are like remaking your favorite movie. Looks good on paper but not as satisfying as the real deal. Call me a purist but you can never remake the Wizard of Oz and similarly putting weird toppings on a tortilla doesn’t make it a taco. We started with the brisket nachos which were very good.

To be clear, this joint is cool, the food is prepared very well and they do an excellent job, it’s just not something I cared for. My wife and I both got the #11 Grilled Flank Steak, then she got the Cuban and I got the Reuben (we visit on St. Patty’s Day). The Grilled Flank Steak and the Cuban were good - the Reuben was just not good. Too much kraut and too much dressing; others may love it, not my thing. We also shared the Velvet cake which was super okay. We’ve got some world class bakeries in our home town though, so the bar isn’t real low on that one. In all I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here again but I wouldn’t not go. My mistake was craving tacos and then picking this place because these are not tacos; they’re craft tacos which is entirely different. Worth mentioning the staff here was super cool and helpful with navigating the menu.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this incredible taco shop, and I must say, it was an experience that left me absolutely delighted. From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was greeted by the warm and friendly manager, Phillip, whose hospitality truly set the tone for the entire visit.

Phillip’s genuine enthusiasm and passion for his work were evident in every interaction. He went above and beyond to ensure that every customer felt welcome and taken care of. Whether it was recommending the perfect taco combination or sharing interesting tidbits about the ingredients, Phillip’s knowledge and love for the food were truly infectious.

Now, let’s talk about the food itself. Oh my, where do I even begin? The menu boasted an impressive array of taco options, each more tantalizing than the last.

But what truly elevated the dining experience was the attention to detail and the commitment to quality. Each taco was meticulously crafted, with the perfect amount of toppings and sauces to enhance the flavors without overpowering them.

And let’s not forget about the margaritas and red velvet cake!!

This taco shop is an absolute gem, and I cannot recommend it enough. The manager, Phillip, sets the tone with his warm hospitality, making every customer feel like a valued guest. The food is simply outstanding, with a wide variety of tacos that cater to every palate. And of course, the margaritas are a must-try. So, if you’re looking for a taco paradise that combines exceptional hospitality, mouthwatering food, and refreshing margaritas, look no further. This is the...

As I’m writing this review I’m still shaking. . Absolutely insane people they hire. Was completely harassed by the man guarding the bathroom saying I needed to buy something. I told him I was going to and my friends were in line I just had to use the bathroom. Everyone around me was asking me if I was okay because he was incredibly rude and degrading. Never experienced something like this and they should be ashamed. I was not intoxicated and was consistently called drunk and broke supposedly. Never come here was also harassed by a customer because of who knows what reason I have no idea if it was because of race or because I’m a woman but I’ve never felt more singled out and harassed by an absolute psychopath. I’m an honors student at uta majoring in engineering. It’s incredible to me that management allow this type of harassment. I felt so violated as a woman and the fact that everyone for the most part was on my side is absolutely insane. It’s velvet taco for gods sake not the bank. As the only woman in line I felt threatened and defamed in front of everyone. I was shaking and terrified, I wish I had gotten a video because I can’t even put into words this experience the manager didn’t even come up to talk to me and hear me out. They should be absolutely fired. Beware single woman , apparently you can’t be without a man nowadays in order to not be harassed. Owner of this establishment...
