Went here almost a week ago for the first time because I was in the area for a stage show, and ate well! Staff was very friendly, Vincent (at least, I'm pretty sure their name started with a V, I have a horrid memory for names, I'm sorry) greeted me as I sat down, and brought me a menu right away, got my drink order, and then after he found out it was my first time here, pointed out the major highlights of their menu! He was incredibly friendly, and I appreciated it greatly!
I opted for their namesake, the Angry Dog, and it was GREAT!! It came out real fast, their tater tots with their seasoning blend and a bit of salt and pepper was truly delicious! And the dog itself was so good! It's not a typical dog you can pick up, it was piled so high with onions, chili, and cheese, you had to take a knife and fork to it! My only wish was that the cheese they sprinkle on top was melted, but that's just an individual personal texture issue for me, so I'm not taking points off for that. Though, might be nice to maybe have an option to have the cheese hit with a quick torch or briefly toasted/broiled and melted that way. Something for management to consider, maybe?
They were very quick to refill my drink! Perhaps too quick, as at the end, my drink was taken by a different waiter after I had a clean plate and was about to leave. I didn't say anything, thinking it was just being taken to be cleaned like my plate was, but he brought it back filled up! Had to explain I was on my way out and didn't need it refilled, but it was still good for a chuckle!
All in all, it was a delightful experience, and while I sadly don't live or work anywhere close to the area to eat there more, if I ever do find myself back around that area, I'll want to try their fried pickles and maybe a burger, or their nachos next! Wish they had a smaller appetizer size for their fried pickles, or an option to make it a side instead of fries/tots. At $8 bucks, it sounds like it's a ton of fried pickles for a group, not for an individual. Which is fine if you're in a group, nothing wrong with that. I just love fried...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Angry Dog, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The menu offers a fantastic selection of comfort food with a creative twist.
The Angry Dog burger is an absolute must-try! Cooked to perfection, juicy, and packed with flavor. The combination of the fresh ingredients and the perfectly seasoned patty made it one of the best burgers I've ever had. I also loved the variety of craft beers on tap, which paired perfectly with the meal.
The service was impeccable—fast, attentive, and genuinely friendly. Despite the busy evening, our server made sure we had everything we needed and checked in regularly to ensure we were enjoying our experience.
The casual, laid-back vibe, combined with the delicious food and great service, makes Angry Dog a go-to spot for both a casual night out or a special treat. Whether you're a local or just visiting Dallas, this place should be on your list. I can't wait...
Read moreThe Angry Dog has been around for some 26 years, so I thought it be a good time to go check it out. My ONLY regret is I waited 26 years. It’s menu is more than you'd think possible for a Deep Ellum Bar. That’s Right a Deep Ellum Bar. No Live Music just GREAT food and beverage.
I lived in Canada and I can tell you about Poutine. In Canada it is Fries with Cheese Curds and Brown Gravy. At the Angry Dog HECTOR's Poutine is where North meets South(west) with their take on The Canadian classic. Fries, Cheddar cheese, chorizo and jalapeño gravy.
I knew it wasn't going to be as good as what I had in Canada, and I was correct. It was WAY BETTER! As I said it is an extensive menu and the BEER menu is just as diverse with 4 pages of Local and other Beer offerings.
Kathryn was our server and the Service was outta of this world. She is full of suggestions if you need them and is very real and personal in her presentation.
