We couldn’t get in the first night we tried to come here. Ironically my nieces and I were trying separately to get reservations and didn’t even know it. The next day, my husband brought us here and we were so excited! He also didn’t know we wanted to come here! It is gorgeous inside! We didn’t even make it to the rooftop view because you don’t need it! We started with the Frozen Patrón Flights and they were awesome!! Four frozen Patrón margaritas with Chamoy and your choice of flavorings. We chose watermelon, strawberry, blackberry, and passionfruit. These were topped with patrón silver. They were delicious, made great pics, and were a great start! Next, we ordered the Flaming Fundido. Order this!!!!!! It’s melted Oaxaca cheese, served in a 400° Molcajete bowl, with flour tortillas. We got ours with chorizo, poblano peppers, and white onions. THIS IS THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER EATEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. #gamechanger #oaxacaforlife I ordered the smothered chicken burrito. It has house slow cooked chicken, mixed cheese, frijoles De La Hoya, avocado salsa, sour cream sauce, and Ranchero sauce. I ate every bite! Delicioso. My husband ordered the smothered sirloin burrito , mesquite grilled Carne Asada, pasilla chili, Asada veggies, frijoles De La Hoya, mixed cheese, Ranchero sauce, sour cream and queso. I was a little jealous at first because mine didn’t come with queso but mine was amazing. Ernie said his was great. My nieces ordered plain chicken quesadillas. Those are grilled flour tortillas filled with mesquite grilled chicken breast, mixed cheese, served with sour cream, pico de gallo, and ancho slaw. They loved it and also had the street fries. Hand cut Idaho potatoes with house Mexi-seasoning, perfect. Everything was perfect. Vidorra’s playlist is everything, the decor and atmosphere are fabulous, and the staff is the best! This is a bucket list restaurant! Go to Deep Ellum in Dallas and ruin yourself for any other restaurant! You will not be...
Read moreI finally got around to making it over to this restaurant after I had heard about it as being a poppin spot in Deep Ellum. I've mostly avoided it because parking ANYWHERE in Deep Ellum sucks. For anyone coming to the restaurant, there is a parking lot right next to the restaurant, but be prepared to pay for the convenience of not having to drive up and down the street trying to find a spot to parallel park. So you know the details and can plan accordingly, it was $7.57 to park in the lot for 2 hours. When it comes to the restaurant, it was nice and big. They initially sat us in the covered inside patio if that makes sense. It has fans and misters I believe but it was just entirely too hot - especially after being outside for most of the day already. We moved inside and the service was VERY slow. It was a bit annoying having to wait so long for our server to get around to us when all the other servers were just goofing off and standing around. When it comes to the food and drinks, it certainly was delicious though. Both salsas they serve were very good (the salsa verde and salsa roja) and decently spicy (not too much for those of us who like to breathe fire though)! We each had a cocktail - the Chismoso and the La Dulce Caliente. They were both well-made drinks. We then had the Baja Fish Tacos and the Veggie Enchiladas. The tacos were very good as well as the rice and refried black beans (my favorite!) but the star was my enchiladas. I thought they were just going to stuff it with spinach which is listed on the menu, but they also put zucchini and squash, onions and peppers, as well as the spinach and tomatoes. These were by far the best veggie enchiladas I've ever had! I'm not sure I'd come here again because I hate the parking and the service was very lackluster, but I just...
Read moreI've visited Vidorra several times, primarily for the queso and drinks, and until now, my experiences have been decent, with no significant issues besides cleanliness. However, this recent visit was my first time dining there during lunch with work colleagues, and unfortunately, it was a disappointment.
I typically don't write reviews based solely on service, but this experience warrants an exception. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, with only one other party seated, it took an unusually long time for our group to be seated. Once we were finally seated and ordered, the service went from slow to outright confusing.
When the food began to arrive, one of the servers seemed completely lost. She brought out dishes that were incorrect and misnamed, causing confusion at our table. I received the wrong order and had to wait for someone to come by so I could address the issue. Meanwhile, our actual server brought out more food, but only half of our table received their orders. The rest of us waited an additional 5-10 minutes, which disrupted the flow of the meal.
Eventually, I was able to flag someone down to correct my order, but by the time my food was brought back, my colleagues had already finished eating. I asked for a to-go box and sauce containers, intending to take my meal with me. However, when I received the sauce containers, I was disgusted to find that one had already been used and still had food residue in it.
This experience left a bad taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively. Based on this visit, I believe my days of coming to this...
