I have been to a lot of Latino restaurants and this one is no different than most as far as the food goes. They have the traditional items on the menu as well as some regional specialties. However, CUSTOMER SERVICE.... or the lack of CUSTOMER SERVICE...is why they get three stars. We walked in and folks stared like we didn't belong there. They were having karaoke but we weren't welcomed or greeted so I didn't feel comfortable trying to sing there. When our server finally decided to take our order she was verbally surprised that I ordered the Guiso de Res... As if I shouldn't have known what it is. It was good by the way! But again, the service wasn't. Not only was it loud from the karaoke, but our server only came back ONCE to see if we needed anything. At the time we just started eating so we didn't know if we needed anything else. Midway through our meal I wanted more tortillas. But our server was no where to be seen. If you are in business, ALL peoples should be welcome and you shouldn't be treated as if you are encroaching on someone's territory. Folks always sqawk about feeling left out but then you forget to act accordingly! Trying not to be political but this is how this visit felt. I don't think I will return to this place. There are plenty of restaurants I can go to and feel my money is...
Read moreAfter a good time contemplating dropping by, we finally we stopped to try it out. We decided to order to go. My wife ordered the Gordita plate and I got a cubana torta. First impression upon opening our food: What the FK is this? Absolutely nothing as reviews state. The food was no where good. The Torta had I slice of ham 2 pieces of sausage and old pice of breaded milanesa meat, The gorditas barely had meat, they charge me $.25 c extra for fajita meat, we paid $35.00. Not to mention a SERVICE FEE of 15% on a TO GO Order??!?!? Not even in the Hospitality Industry they charge 15% service fee.
When I asked about the Service Fee, the attendant said that owner adds this extra fee to every order no matter how big or small the order is.
I am very interested in obtaining a response from the owner with a poor excuse.
Stay aware this place, believe the food is not all that. The food was cooked and...
Read moreIf you want to leave the US and actually taste real Mexican food made by a family-operated restaurant, then I totally recommend this place. The food was delicious and the service workers were very kind (they speak mostly Spanish, and a little English, but they're not trying to change themselves for a whiter demographic, they primarily serve fellow latinos).
But overall, if you speak a bit of Spanish and want good food for a good price (their prices are on par if not a little cheaper than other mainstream locations, ok? They need to make money too), then go ahead and help them out by enjoying what they have to offer.
Also, they're currently (as of 06/23/2024) hiring for a server position, based on what we saw, I can't imagine it would be a lot, but if you desperately need money, a...
