I'm not mad at the owners/operators. I'm mad at those of you who go here and support this utter trash. Walk in to no menu, other than the screen showing you how much deli meats are per pound. So I order two roast beef sandwiches. $34. I'm embarrassed to even admit that I paid $34 (PLUS A SIZABLE TIP BEFORE I GOT MY FOOD TO GO) for what I'm going to generously say were two sandwiches. How is a lump of dry meat with generic mustard on the most pathetic bread considered a sandwich? The potato salad was inedible. I honestly don't know how anyone can screw up potato salad that badly, but I don't like sugar, so maybe that's where we differ. Sugar. In potato salad. I didn't stutter. There's a boatload of sugar in the potato salad. Oh, and let's talk about the pickles. I've had bad pickles. I honestly don't understand how someone can mess up pickles, but it happens. They have the worst, weirdest color, grossest consistency pickles ever, wrapped in paper. My grandmother, for whom I bought this giant mess of an awful meal, wanted me to take the rest home to my dogs, but I love my dogs and, therefore, won't subject them to whatever this garbage is. Please don't eat here. We have so many better options and you really owe it to yourself to try literally anything else. Hospital food is better. There's gotta be a vending machine with more palletable options. You cannot possibly be that hungry that you think this place is a viable option. What is possibly wrong with you that you could even consider paying $15 plus tax plus an extortionary tip for cardboard and highly generic mustard? Please...
Read moreAte here yesterday morning for the first time and it won't be the last; I've found a new FAVORITE breakfast place in Dallas. I rate all restaurants on a scale of 1-10; 7 being the lowest to indicate "I'd like to come here again". In my opinion, Cindi's is a 9.8 out of 10. Scrambled eggs were indeed scrambled... not fried on a flat griddle then chopped up to look like scrambled like you get at Denny's and IHOP. Ordered my favorite very crispy bacon and it came out exactly as I wanted, which is rare... I often have to send my bacon back). Home fried potatoes were cut in small chunks, mixed with a good amount of very finely chopped onion and cooked perfectly. The pancakes had good flavor and texture; I wouldn't refer to them as "light", but they were not heavy either. Service was surprisingly fast on a Sunday morning at 9am. In my opinion, the deli/bakery area on the South end of the room needs to be reworked slightly to make the customer flow more friendly; while I was trying to examine the available baked goods for sale, customers kept walking in front of me. I was actually a tiny bit disappointed with the selection (I pick up kolaches at the Czech Stop in West frequently), but I finally chose the peach danish (which was very tasty). The only other minor disappointment was that they do not have French Vanilla Creamer for the coffee. My wife wants to try dinner here on Thursday... they have daily specials, and Thursday happens to be one of her favorites - Beef Tips in gravy over noodles (I think that's what it was anyway). All-in-all, this was THE best breakfast experience in...
Read moreThis is the second time I’ve come here with my partner and I can’t recommend this place enough, especially if you’re from the northeast. I’m from New Jersey and been here for a years and this is the only place I’ve ever been to that’s reminded me of home. The atmosphere is old but cozy and reminds you of a classic home town Jewish bakery/northern diner. The service is always 10/10. Friendly and very very quick, even when it was jam packed! Now the food. WOW. Their deli sandwiches are STACKED. They definitely don’t skimp at all, and the sauces and Cole slaw are fresh and delicious (and my partner HATES cole slaw but he loves the taste it adds to the sandwiches here). Their omelets are tasty, especially with added meat like pastrami. Hash browns are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Corned beef hash is meaty and reminds me of growing up. The matsa ball soup is definitely recommended to try and their French fries are classic diner delicious. Now the bagels are probably the best I’ve had from anywhere in the south. If you’re from Jersey or NY you know the only good bagels are ours, but these guys actually make some good bagels for down south! Finally, their bakery area is amazing! Classic diner selection of delicious pies and cakes along with eclairs (8/10 great), brownies (easy 9/10), cookies (8/10 and huge), and the danishes (8.5/10 so delicious). If you haven’t been here, then you need to go here ASAP! Well worth the wait on a...
