When I first moved to Dallas, this resteraunt was among the first my co-workers told me about and after more than 3 years it has not disappointed once! Everything on the menu is great, served in generous portions and with combinations you may not find anywhere else. If dining in, you will meet a friendly staff attentive to every table and guest. If taking out, you will see the efficient walk up window where orders are often ready in as little as 15 minuntes. The Pad Woon Sen is a go-to favorite for my wife and I. The clear noodles with hearty vegetables and a protein of your choice is a healthy, guilt free dinner. Sushi is fresh and delicious, made with just the right amount of sauces and toppings. Egg rolls are among the very best in any American resteraunt outside of a few special places in New York or San Francisco. Specialty drinks, but alcoholic and non-alcoholic are a nice addition. The iced melon green tea is a particularly refreshing choice. And the dessert menu has something for everyone so leave room for some. The green tea ice cream cake is the most unique treat that makes my short list in the summer. There is a chocolate cake slice I prefer in the colder weather months but whichever dessert you choose, bring a friend. They are big portions and best enjoyed with others while the dish is still fresh.
For those dining in on Fridays or weekend, expect a short wait and modest crowds but noise levels are moderate. Seats and tables are close together like most strip mall resteraunts so be aware this may not be the best place for dinner if you need to have a more private conversation. That said, the staff will always go out of their way to accommodate any special requests from seating to dietary restrictions to packaging to-go items.
For take out, just remember this location can get pretty busy so if you order via Uber Eats or other apps, give them a little extra time to secure a driver. If you can pick up yourself, you will typically save...
Read moreGuys. Dallas has a million restaurants, mostly overpriced and focus on the interior more than the actual food. But this restaurant is THE BEST Thai-Asian cuisine spot in all of DFW. My boyfriend and I celebrate our monthly anniversaries here. If I’m feeling down, I order the basil fried rice. If I’m feeling sick, I get takeout basil fried rice and yellow curry. When I got a new job, I was treated with basil fried rice. Hungry? Always craving the basil fried rice. Need to get some work done? I bring my laptop, do work at the restaurant, and order basil fried rice.
Asian Mint is with me every step of the way. I order from here for every single life occasion—I almost threw my graduation party at Asian Mint! It is hands down the best place to go for delicious, heartwarming, tasty food. Girls' night? Asian Mint. You name it.
I am a huge Thai food fan and have tried many Thai dishes all over DFW and Denton—nothing comes close to Asian Mint. My dream is to attend one of Chef Nikki’s cooking classes. My boyfriend even bought her signature sauces, which they serve at the restaurant. I tell everyone I know about Asian Mint and how incredible it is.
I’ve been eating here for about two years now, and I hope to continue eating here forever. I’ve even driven over an hour and a half just because I was craving their Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles) and basil fried rice. It’s fried rice like you’ve...
Read moreBEWARE!!!!Our second visit to Asian Mint was very disappointing. My husband ordered the Basil Red Snapper and I ordered the Basil Fried Rice with Chicken because of a previous review. The menu had a red chile pepper next to the Basil Fried Rice which ment it was supposed to be spicy which was what I was hoping for. It was not spicy at all. It was plain, boring and somewhat greasy. The biggest issue was when the server brought my husbands dish, it was tilapia, NOT red snapper! No one asked him if he was ok with the substitution. I believe the chef probably thought we wouldn't notice. As a chef myself, I noticed the issue right away. My husband explained to the server that he had ordered red snapper, and she said "Yes, that is red snapper." I quickly said "NO, that is tilapia." She brought over the manager who did her best to apologize. She said that the chef didn't tell her. I told her that it is very dishonest to serve something other than what is ordered without telling the customer. All we wanted was comphensation for the difference in price (tilapia is one of the cheapest fish available and red snapper is much more expensive). The manager took the entire price of the dish off our bill. It makes me wonder if the sushi they serve is really what the menu descibes it as. We will probably not eat at...
