El Botanero Bar — Restaurant in Dallas

Honest review, vibe was great. The service...is another story. It took about 20 min to put in an order for drinks. Not to mention, the waitress asked one person for their order, would leave, come back to ask the other person at my table what their order was...and so on. Took about another 20 min to get our drinks. To order food, the waitress took our order in parts yet again. We'd talk to her and she'd walk away.

It wasn't incredibly busy. They had maybe 4 tables to deal with. Moving forward, took 30+ min to get our food. Wasn't even 15 min into eating our meal and the waitress came to give us our bill. She made a second round to ask how we were gonna pay when we were still eating. Unprofessional with little skill when it comes to customer service.

Terrible DJs playing American songs over a bachata beat. Cutting good songs short. Following great songs with mediocre songs. If you are a latin music aficionado the DJs here will ruin the mood for you. Same for the salsa. That mean said if you don't care abkut the songs and will dance to anything with a salsa or bachata beat then this is the spot for you. I listen to the lyrics and that gets me in the mood. One of the few places that has authentic tasting Mexican food. The atmosphere during lunch is a little blah, but the food is great and the servers are friendly. They make bombass chicharrones en salsa verde. The carnitas were both soft and crispy. Their corn tortillas are very similar to the ones my aunt in Mexico used to make over an open flame.
