I have been going to Pollo Regio for about 18 years, to this location for about 10 years. I understand the inflation has made prices go up, however, in 10 years it has gone up about $11 to $14 more, and recently went up again. I order the exact same thing every time, the #1 whole chicken with rice and beans (now it is called the family meal 8 piece). It always comes with 4 salsa's (verde or roja), and I order 6 extra to get a total of 10 salsa's. Now the size of the salsa's are much smaller, half the size, and not filled all the way up. The container size being used now takes 2 to be the older size container. Now I have to order 16 extra to get a total of 20 just to get the same amount of salsa that I have always ordered, but now I have to pay much more for the same amount. It also depends on who the cashier is, and how much they decide to charge me, it's never the same. I am Non-Hispanic White, and at times it seems I am charged more by certain individual cashier's because of my race. My last visit I was charged $7 plus for the extra salsa's (don't have receipt with me for exact dollar amount). I also order a medium sour cream and extra lime. I order about 2 to 3 times a month here. So, to my point, I used to pay $29 to $32 an order ($58 to $87 a month) for the same thing years ago, now it is $40 to $43 an order, so spending $80 to $120 a month now, $960 to $1,440 a year from just 1 customer, and now they are OVERCHARGING me for salsa. It is getting so ridiculous!!! I am really disappointed about the salsa situation. Not to mention the chunk of white meat on the wings have gotten way smaller as well, and at times are just totally gone like someone ate it. In addition, the way they are now packaging the chicken in paper boxes instead of the butcher paper that was much more durable and less messy is not a good thing or ideal. Seems I need try out another location to see if I am being charged the same, along with the treatment of being Non-Hispanic White or just maybe take my business elsewhere going to another company/restaurant...
Read moreI ordered to go I asked the cashier, I think didnt speak English so I spoke to her in Spanish I asked to give me an extra avocado salsa she said I had to pay extra for it either .99 cents for a small or $1.99 for a medium. I love there avocado salsa so I said okay that's fine I will take the medium for 1.99. They took awhile to give me my food, when I finally got it I asked her did you put the avocado salsa that you charged me extra for in the bag, she said yes it's in the bag. I failed to check the bag because by the time I got my food I noticed a line of cars behind me that were waiting as well, I took her word that she had put it in the bag. When I got home I realized she didn't give me a receipt, I took my food out and was looking for the medium avocado salsa that I paid for and she did not put the avocado salsa in my bag. Only the small one the that usually give you with the food. I was really upset about I didnt even enjoy my flautas. I should have checked the bag myself. Unfortunately i was lied to. I will not return because when I asked she still had the bag in her hands and I felt like she had should have checked the bag just to make sure she put it in there. It's not about the extra 1.99 she charged me its about the customer service. She should have checked the bag when I asked if the extra avocado salsa...
Read moreI usually love Pollo Regio but food from the Drive Thru was disappointing. The Loaded Corn, was dark brown. Corn is supposed to be yellow or white or blue but not burnt brown. It was not the typical Corn in a Cup type Loaded Corn. Too much liquid for Loaded Corn too. The Borracho Beans I bought was half animal fat for an 8 ounce portion. I ordered 3 tortillas, and they looked and tasted like they were dipped in grease. Since whem are flour tortillas served like that? No, there were no food spills. The food didnt even smell good. It wasnt worth gping nack for new food when all I bought smelled, looked and taste bad. This is the Worst Pollo Regio I have been with in the Metroplex. It's as bad as the one in San Antonio off of Frederickaburg which may not even be the same franchise. Of it is, that one needs to be...
