This restaurant appears to be new to the area, but established long enough to be settled in with repeat customers.
It first appeared to be a fast-food, grab your lunch or dinner and go. Instead there are very comfortable booth and table seating. You order at the counter and pick up your meal and take to your table. There is no table service except for clearing the tables after your meal.
The menu is in Spanish, so I needed assistance for some of my choices. I chose the half chicken, roasted to perfection! It came with a most generous serving of mildly spicy rice, and charo beans in a dish. My roasted chicken was so tender it fell off the bones!
My husband chose the chicken flautas (5 of them), also with the very generous serving of rice, refried beans, guacamole, and lettuce.
The servings were so generous that if we lived in the area we would have taken at least half of it home, or initially shared one meal. We were in the area because of a treatment at the UT-SW hospital, so no way to take it with us.
The young family next to us had a soup with so many things in it! The young man took out an ear of corn, potatoes, and other things and put his rice in the broth. Either way it looked incredibly tasty!
Plenty of desserts were in a display case, including tres leches cake and flan. Sadly, we had no room left for dessert! Next time for sure!
Drinks included bottles and cans of soda. A bar behind the counter was available for other drinks, bottles displayed on shelves.
Handicapped parking was right at the door for easy entry. We didn't try the restroom, so no report there.
We were very satisfied customers! It will be a great place to return and try something different on the menu and...
Read moreToday my co-worker and I visited this restaurant for the second time. The first time we decided to sit at the bar and one of the girls handed us the menus. After looking at the menu, we ordered drinks and food. That food was decent, but the alcoholic drinks were a bit watered down. The owner was at the register and was polite and we paid and left. Today we decided to sit at the bar again but were immediately told to pay for our food and drinks before sitting down, which was quite inconvenient. We decided to skip the bar and sat at a booth instead. To our surprise they called out our names when our Food and drinks were ready. This was quite unusual for a dining experience we felt it was unprofessional. If They Have A Sitting Area For diners, why would we have to pay and get up to get our own food???? additionally, we notice that they were 4 waitresses standing by the checkout not doing anything, which seemed like a waste of resources. Overall, we were disappointed with our second visit. We were hoping for a better experience, but the poor service and unusual ordering "Dine in" process lft is...
Read moreMy first time here because I didn’t wanna drive 20 minutes to go to el pollo loco, I’ll drive next time. I ordered the two piece grilled chicken with rice and beans. I asked for 3 sauces they gave me 2 and charged for one, cool. I later ordered the queso, and then after that, i ordered a margarita, all of it togo. I paid maybe $27 for everything. I asked for another sauce, they wanted to charge me. After paying all that money, first time here, they wanna charge me for the sauce. I said forget it. I walked outside and there was a hole in my bag, one of the sauces fell out. Of course I had on all white shoes now my shoes are either ruined or have to be clean.. it was red sauce smh.. I went back in, told them about the hole and they replaced my sauce. I get home and the queso was something I had never seen before. It was the most awful looking queso I had ever seen.. the texture looked like gooey slime.. I couldn’t believe it, I just threw it away. The beans were terrible, no flavor and undercooked.. everything else, was decent.. the chicken was really good, but I’ll...
