First time here with my girlfriend. I saw this is one of the top places to eat. We came it at night just before 8pm. We were seated immediately alongside another couple who were waiting. They have seating on the rooftop but only apps and drinks. Full menu downstairs. Menu is simple and easy to read. Water was provided, and a candlelight for our dinner. Our server was a tall white gentleman, and he was very friendly and inviting. Made sure we were always taken care of. Our appetizers came in a timely manner. We had the nachos, which were very tasty. Nachos were very crisp, and the queso had a spicey taste that delivered. I don't usually eat onions, but I made an exemption since it was delicious. After we ordered a lemonade and a cold pressed juice. Lemonade was on par, nothing to write home about, but the juice was very tasty. We then ordered the backyard burger and a chicken club. I had my burger well done, and it was an amazing experience. Juices were still there, lettuce was fresh as well, and the tomatoe too. Cheese was nice and melted, and the fries were crispy as they should be. My girl said her club sandwich was delicious. I took a bite and was surprised by fresh juicy chicken breast. Ingredients we the same quality as mine. Overall, the food was fantastic. Not a single bad or fatty aftertaste. The only letdown was the atmosphere. It's too loud. Yeah, there's music, but you can't really have a conversation with the person in front of you. You'd have to speak loudly, but now everyone next to you can hear your conversation. If you sit along the east wall(opposite of the bar) you are literally sitting and eating next to other people less than an arm length away. It's a cool, fun place, and the food is great. Just know it's a little loud if you like eating with little to average acceptable noise.
P.S. The Berry Cobbler was...
Read moreWe had a great experience at HG Sply Co. - Dallas! The food was delicious and the service was top-notch. We appreciate how each person on staff went out of their way to make sure our first experience there was great. Thank you HG Sply Co. - Dallas!
Food: For our appetizer, we ordered the HG Chips & Queso. Be aware that this dish does contain nuts. Thought we never knew what nut exactly, we stayed away from giving it to our oldest son who has a peanut allergy. It did have a nice kick to it, and the chips had a nice thickness and crunch to them. They also gave us a complementary appetizer since it was our first visit with them, and they brought out an order of the Charred Chicken Thighs. Listen, this is a must order for an appetizer!
For our meals, I ordered a bowl with KC Kobe Beef Burger and Yellow Curry. I enjoyed the rich flavor of the curry, but next time I will probably try it with the charred chicken thighs since those were so good. My wife ordered the Fried “Rice” bowl with KC Kobe Beef burger, which she enjoyed, and my sister got the Stir Fry Bowl with KC Kobe Beef Burger. (Hint - you can tell we all wanted to try the Kobe beef burger). For the boys, we just ordered the stir fry bowl.
Service: We really appreciate the service we received. Even with a wait time, we did not feel rushed and they made sure to check on us frequently. A huge shout out to Terrance for making our party feel welcomed!
Parking: There are a couple parking lots to find decent parking if you can’t find it on the street. All the stores in the area are about a couple blocks from each other, so it helps with the overall experience going from store to store. HG Sply Co. - Dallas is right there in the thick of them all, so...
Read moreGreat layout. Rooftop bar is brilliant in good weather. Stairs are long, so if you're in heels, ladies, prepare for a small trek into the Himalayas. Clearly because it's a rooftop bar, the cocktails and other alcohol options should be good. They are definitely great, so bar knows what it's doing. Service is a bit off and on when they're busy, so I hope the staff manages to remember to check in with other tables they're serving while walking past as they head to the bar. We had to flag ours down constantly. Now, my other issues are with this rooftop menu, which was the running joke of the evening at our 9-person table. There are not many options at all. Would've loved to see more fish and chicken, some sliders, chicken sandwiches, etc, or just give me the downstairs restaurant menu with the upstairs bar feel. We got the pork nachos. It's huge, which is nice, but it gets cold fast, and you can see all the water and grease at the bottom, so the chips get soggy VERY quickly. It turned something with good presentation into an unappealing table obstruction in about 5-7 minutes. All in all, bar FOOD menu needs work. As for the restaurant downstairs, if they serve different items, give it a shot first as the upstairs will only ruin your expectations, unless you're just interested in drinking, then everything seems appealing after a few. Reasoning for 3-star is location was good, initial service was excellent, and bar drinks were quite good, but followup service was very lacking as we had to flag our server down regularly and bar food needs more work. I'll come back to try the downstairs...
