I had high hopes for this place. I have to eat gluten free and had been dying to try thier chicken fried steak instead of making it myself at home which is so messy. It was tasty, but no where near as good as mine. First off, it's not chicken fried steak, it was a country fried steak. Yes, there is a difference. Also, the waiter came out just before bringing our food and said he forgot they were our of mashed potatoes. I got the "mac n cheese" instead, but it wasn't either. It was gf penne with butter and cheese stirred in. Again, tasty, but not Mac n cheese which should be a cheese sauce. I let the penne vs macaroni slide since they're trying to be fancy in a decidedly un-fancy setting as is so popular right now. My mom's fries were far from fresh, but she said the burger was OK. My green beans tasted funny, something of a chemical taste i thought was from grilling, but they said they're sauted...so I stopped eating them. The gf "biscuit" was tasty, but if you're hoping for the homemade southern biscuits you knew before going gf, forget it. It was to heavy with a dense, not biscuit-y, texture. I make gf biscuits and scones and you can't tell they are gf. We took home two gf sweet items (they get from a nearby gf bakery): the cinnful loaf cake slice was overbaked and dry, the german chocolate cake was super dry (one bite and tossed) and icing to sweet, not chocolatey. I know gf cooking/baking isn't easy, but if the product isn't as good as non-gf, don't do it. We pay a premium for gf in restaurants, bakeries, and grocery stores hoping the product is good, only to choked on the dry crumbs of hope. Gf doesn't have to be a total compromise of taste and texture and this place was a more elaborate menu of unthoughtfully made substitutes...
Read moreI rarely write reviews, but my recent experience at Company cafe was so deeply upsetting that I feel compelled to speak up — not just for myself, but to warn others who expect a basic level of quality and respect when dining out.
I ordered the buffalo strips and fish and chips. When my food arrived, the fish was noticeably raw inside. I confirmed this with the waiter, who took it back to the kitchen. The replacement that came out was borderline inedible — extremely overcooked, dark, and aggressively over-salted, as if to compensate for the earlier mistake.
Out of respect for the atmosphere and to avoid creating a scene, I chose not to make an issue of it at the time. However, what followed truly shocked me.
The next day — after recovering from what I can only describe as food poisoning from that meal — I attempted to contact the restaurant. I was hoping for a simple conversation with a manager, to share my experience and give them a chance to make things right.
Instead, I was met with a person who was immediately defensive, dismissive, and startlingly rude. I was told that the service I received was what I “deserved.” Before I could even finish explaining what happened, they hung up on me mid-sentence. No apology. No accountability. Just hostility.
This wasn’t just a disappointing meal — it was a complete failure in professionalism, food safety, and basic customer respect. Mistakes happen in restaurants, and I understand that. But how a business handles those mistakes defines its integrity. In this case, it was handled with contempt.
I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone. If you’re looking for quality food and respectful service, please look elsewhere. Diners deserve better — and this restaurant clearly...
Read moreTerrible experience. I’ve never written a review on a restaurant before until now. I ordered from here for the first time using UberEats, and this food was terrible for $50. First, my gf ordered The Deep Bowl ($17) with added Jalapeños (at an up charge), the food was super bland and you could only see maybe 3 jalapeños. This portion was smaller than a bowl from chipotle. I ordered the Half Migas bowl, it was good, portion was fairly small for $12, maybe about half the size of a chipotle bowl order. We got Biscuits and gravy as a side. You would think for $6.30 it would be a pretty good size portion. Nope, it was a single, thin biscuit, small enough to fit easily on the palm of your hand. The gravy tasted and looked like the store-bought gravy that you just add water to. I ordered granola and yogurt as well and for $10.20, I was picturing an actual bowl of yogurt with mixed fruit and granola like the description implied. This sorry excuse for a bowl had less yogurt than a single cup of the Chobani Greek yogurt. I know this because I had to add one of my own cups to it to actually get enough food. The fruit that came with it was literally less than one strawberry, and 4 blue berries. Not kidding. The granola I got was a big cup of granola, not usually something I would expect to complain about but compared to the rest of the yogurt bowl, you’re left with a mass of granola with very little fruit or yogurt. For $50 and first time ordering from here, I will never eat here again nor recommend anyone try this place. Save your money, and time go someplace...
