Come with me to try the Hidden Gem slider I created at Son of Butcher in Dallas! Still can’t believe it, and people were ordering it! 🍔 6/2-6/15 at all DFW locations:) #hiddengem #dallasfood #dallaseats #sliders #dallasfoodie #dallasrestaurants #dallastx #dallas

UPDATE!!!!!S.O.B. Part Deux! So, I wanted to take my husband to lunch and at the suggestion of the Management to give it another try; we set out to SOB. I am very glad that I did. As per our last visit, the service was spot on! Friendly and efficient. We order the Hot Honey Chicken, Irishman Wagyu, The Popper, Onion Rings, and Nacho Fries. All of which were hot and ready in a matter of minutes! The Hot Honey Chicken was FIRE!!! Crispy Chicken tossed in a WELL executed Hot Honey Sauce, was all things Crunchy, Sweet, Spicy, and Sticky!(Ya'll, erbody does not do Hot Honey well, let me just tell you that NOW!) Pickled Red Onions and Gouda Cheese. Plus! (I did not know this on my previous visit) They offer the cutest(and tasty) GLUTEN-FREE SLIDER BUN!!! Irishman was Wagyu Beef(naturally) White Irish Cheddar, Stout Aioli, Caramelized Onions and a Parsley Salad. It was a good seasoned slider, but I was looking for that earthy, malt Stout flavor that would have really made this a standout slider. Caramelizing the onions in the Stout would have been a great way to marry the sweet flavors of the onions with the Stout Beer. Or, reducing down the beer into a syrup and then adding it to the Aioli, would have been another option. The Popper is a slider version of a jalapeno popper! Nicely seasoned Wagyu Beef topped with Fried Jalapeno Cream Cheese, Pepper Jam and Rosemary Aioli, with Bacon and Cilantro(Yes, honey I know it's a lot, but it all worked!) This was my husbands FAVORITE! Onion Rings, SAY LESS! Always a winner and consistent! Thick rings on Sweet Onions and a perfectly crisp exterior. Now, The NACHOOOOO FRIES! They were AWESOME!!! Waffle Fries smothered in Queso, Ranch, Queso Fresco, and Cilantro. I LOVE NACHOS and this was a great representation! Gooey, bursting with flavor! It was all that and a bag of NOT, Nacho Chips! Thank You SOB, for being so dedicated to the customer experience. Check It Out!!!!!! Located in Lowest Greenville is a sandwich shop for you to "Slide" on threw( I know it was corny, don't do me)! S.O.B. (Son of a Butcher) is a quant little spot offering slider style sandwiches that are slightly bigger than your average slider(most sliders are only 2oz). The premise of Son of a Butcher is to offer locally sourced high quality ingredients(they use Wagyu beef and hand bread their chicken) to put a little spin on classic burger fair. Unfortunately, they missed the mark. Hubby ordered the 3 Sliders with a side of Onion Rings. The PB&J was Wagyu Beef patty, blackberry jam, bacon, crunchy peanut butter, american cheese, and caramelized onions. The bun was soft and fluffy and the flavors worked well together, but everything was under season(baby, salt and pepper goes a loooong way)! The Burnt Ends slider was Smoked brisket, gouda cheese, pickled red onions, BBQ sauce, and rosemary aioli. The brisket was dry, barely warm, and the cheese wasn't even melted. Now, the shining light in the slider trilogy was the Texas Hot Chicken Slider! This is Son of a Butcher's version of a Nashville Hot Chicken(breaded fried chicken tossed in a oil based spicy sauce). However, S.O.B. was topped with pimento cheese and a pickle. It's simple, but executed well! The chicken was juicy and cloaked in a slightly sweet hot sauce(be sure to eat this slider last, the flavor lingers). The sauce reminded me of Sichuan peppercorns(you know how they give you that numbing effect from the spice) topped with a creamy pimento cheese, that helped to tamper down the spice, and give it the perfect creamy element. Also, the onion rings!!! Huge, thick, rings of sweet onion fried to the perfect golden brown, with a crunch that is the stuff of dreams. In short, Son of a Butcher brings the quality, but is hit or miss on flavor.

A while back I went to Son of a Butcher to grab lunch for me and my friends. We had a great time and I knew before I went that I still needed to give them a review. Finally, my opportunity came and I was quite happy with the result. I ordered the Burnt Ends, the Spicy Cheese Curds, and the Swanky Chocolate Brownie Shake. The cheese curds were awesome. I have tried cheese curds from the few restaurants that have them, and these have been the best so far. I cannot recommend them enough. The shake I was not too good with. This is by no means a judgment of the shake. I just couldn’t hang. It was delicious at first, but I feel that I simply tried to drink it wrong. I ended up with a lot of brownie crust and chocolate syrup at the bottom. By the time I got there, there was so much chocolate, I wasn’t into it anymore. Again, this is amazing for choco-holics, but not me. The sliders were excellent as I expected. Delicious, juicy, all beef patties grilled to perfection and topped with the brisket and jalapeño. The buns held together and absorbed the capsaicin extremely well. Every single one of the three used top-quality ingredients and the sauce was savory and flavorful. Every element of these patties stood out on their own from the crowd and made the entire experience better. If you’re in Lower Greenville and can find the parking, give SoB a try and prepare for burger nirvana. And if you wish to share the joy, give their sleeves a try, it’s great food for the whole group. 5/5 If you would like to read more reviews about DFW's amazing local burger shops, look us up on Facebook (@BurgerByteDFW) and Instagram (@BurgerByteDFW) #DFWBurgers #GoodEats #Foodie #DFWFoodie #Burger #Burgers #DallasBurger #DallasBurgers #DallasFoodie #FortWorthBurger #FortWorthBurgers #FortWorthFoodie #DFWBurger #ShopLocal #ShopDFW #SupportLocal

This Place Was Excellent! My Husband And I had a bad experience at a different restaurant and decided to come here, which was Our Original Destination! The young man that took Our Order Was Great! The young men in the drive-thru were attentive and great! The vegan blackbean slider was great! We Will Be Back!

Edit: We Returned On Friday, April 30, 2021 and Placed Our Order ToGo. We decided to go Wait In Our Car. Nearly 30 Minutes later, We Still Had Not Received A notification text About Our Order. I'm not sure if the majority of the staff were drunk, tipsy, or under some type of influence. We Pulled Up To The Drive-Thru Window and Saw the majority of the staff were laughing, eating and totally ignoring Us At The Drive-Thru Window Where We Sat For A Few minutes. A few staff members passed right by the Window, and finally someone approached the window, still in full conversation, and even carried on before finally opening up the Window. We Asked About Our Order, And At first he couldn't find it, and even almost gave Us somebody else's Order before realizing Our Order Was Sitting On The Front Counter Cold! We Asked Why Did We Not Receive A Text Notification? The guy acted like it was Our fault and eventually had the Order Re-Made. Poor...
