Jarams Donuts — Restaurant in Dallas

New Yorker ( home of the cronut ) visiting Dallas. I was happy to find this place so, woke up at 6:30am to be there when they open at 7am, you know to get them while they’re hot. Well…. What a disappointment, the donuts tasted like month old oil ( specially the maple bacon cronut ), the glazed one was OK at best. The Apple fritter was hard, didn’t taste fresh at all and I’m willing to bet anything it was from the day before, and last…. The crème brûlée, it was DISGUSTING, it was bitter, so much so that I had to spit it out, I’ve been going over it in my head, trying to figure out why it’d be so bitter, and I can’t honestly tell you why, I’ve never had a bitter donut. The only thing I can think of is the crème they use went sour and no one noticed. OVERPRICED, not tasty, I’d say you’re better off going somewhere else, but you know? Go and try it for yourself, if you agree with me come back and give this review a thumbs up, I wanna make sure I’m not crazy. I was SO looking forward to it but it ended up in disappointment. This little shop is run with pride! Every time we go, it's clean, the service is quick and professional, the food is everything I dream of when I dream of stuffing myself with sugary doughnut goodness. Every time we go, we get at least one super fancy doughnut, cronut or funnel-cake doughnut-- they're quite large, and cost a bit more than the regular doughnuts Jarams also sells. Think of the Wedding Cakes of Doughnuts--I'm told some people actually use these for their weddings this way, and Jarams totally does catering for any kind of event. They also spell out messages with their donuts. :D They have a small selection of cold and hot beverages, and 2 tables for seating in-house. No public restroom. We usually visit via bike, and they put up with our sweaty, nasty selves with grace. This is a family favorite which I'm hesitant to share-- in case they get too busy!-- but ultimately keeping them in business is 100% my wish for all...

Absolute best donuts in DFW! There are MANY donut places to choose from anywhere you go in Texas, but Jarams is one shop worth going out of your way to get to over any others. That is not to say there are not other good donut shops. I could pin point at least 2 others that are also top of the list but I think what makes Jarams #1 is the quality of everything they offer. While Jarams has some specialty items, you are not going to find some unheard of combination of flavors and toppings here like you might at what I would name #2 and #3 shops.
