Mac Karaoke — Restaurant in Dallas

I want to acknowledge that the recent events have been very hard on small businesses, especially Asian-owned businesses. Please know that other people in reviews before me seem to have had good experiences here. However, I did not.

I messaged the owner weeks in advance of my partner’s surprise birthday party. I even confirmed the event and details the day of the event. Still, when my guests arrived, there was no effort put into hosting us. There was one employee, who did not speak sufficient English to communicate with. Nor did this employee know how to work the karaoke machines. My partner’s birthday party was effectively ruined because they literally kept moving the group from one room to another for no reason. When we walked in, everyone had to hide in the bathroom because it was the nearest alcove they could find because 20 minutes into our reservation they still couldn’t put us in a room knowing that it was a surprise birthday party.

When I messaged the owner, she said said she was on her way. I understand things pop up, but as a business owner, it is your responsibility to safeguard your reputation and have a backup plan. The owner showed up about 45 min into the surprise.

On top of this, the one employee who was not able to communicate with us could not really take our drink orders. So I had to get behind the bar and start helping out. It was an incredibly stressful evening for me and frankly I was embarrassed by how poorly this business performed when it really needed to.

The food was is exactly at you should expect, it’s nothing fancy or anything. But it was still good and we enjoyed snacking on them throughout the night.

Our hostess/server was Sarah. Super sweet and friendly. The moment we walked in she greeted us and although we were late we were still able to get our room. We had over 15 people and the room fit all of us with plenty of space to dance around and not feel crowded. Brandon assisted her all throughout the night as well. Both Sarah and Brandon kept our night running smoothly. They always checked on us and explained to us in full details on how their system worked. We were there for about 3 hours and no matter what we needed they were able to provide us with what we needed and always stay positive and friendly. At the bar was Millie we didn’t have much interaction with her but she was super kind and would help us anytime one of us came up to the bar.

The place in not super fancy or over the top, but we enjoyed every moment and the staff was great. The location makes it seem unappealing but that has nothing to do with the business itself. Please give this...

There are private rooms everywhere inside. The bar is in the middle you do not have to drink alcohol. The rooms are spacious for whoever comes, They provide two mics so incase two people want to sing at the same time. You can pullup any song you would like to sing because it is youtube. For the mics though would recommend even though they have these little coverings on them to ask them to sanitize them or you bring your own sanitizer because you are sharing the mics with whatever guest is with you. The staff is very friendly. I will tell you this though if you pay for a hour just only use that hour because if you do not they will not say anything and let you be in there and when you decide to leave, they are going to make sure they get that money. This is place is kind of like ducted off on royal lane but if you are coming off of 35 there will be a 7eleven on your right and mcdonalds and wendys on your left once you past the 7eleven it is that first left turn in.
