When you can finish your taco in 2 bites, the tortilla is too small and too expensive , $2.50 each, thats $1.25 per bite. I had to intentionally take smaller bites to make it last. The barbacoa could have had more flavor, and more meat. That’s too expensive regardless of taste. We also ordered quesadillas but you have to order the plate b/c they won’t do just one. I tasted all the meats, the barbacoa was overly cooked to where it no longer had chunks of meat, but rather strings of meat. Not a good harmony when you bite into it. The shredded beef was dry and a flavor I’ve never experienced before, I didn’t care for it, the fajita was perfect and the chicken quesadilla was tasty. Taco Tuesday has limitations, no barbacoa, no lengua, no fajita (I believe). I might go back, but right around them are many other options to try out first until you find that one that becomes your “new spot.” The lady up front, the order taker, was great. Friendly and helpful. Good luck!!

Tried this place for the first time because a friend saw a reel on instagram. I will admit, I wasn’t very sure how my experience would turn out to be. The place itself is a bit small and not at all fancy so I am usually a bit cautious with my first order. I ordered a chicken burrito as I thought it would be my safest first as I wanted to try the quality of meat. And boy was I blown away. Firstly, order came with 3 medium wrap sized burritos. When you expect 1, get 3, brain is already crazy. :). Moving on to the main content. The tortilla, pillowy soft and felt very freshly made. The contents were simple, no fuss, minced lemon peppery chicken, bean paste, onion, tomato and cilantro and to top it were 2 amazingly umamilisious salsa. I don’t know how authentic it can get from this but this is authentic enough for me. My word, go for the food!! I am yet to try other things on the menu and will definitely be trying soon.

This place is quirky, it’s the closest thing I’ve found to a late night CDMX taqueria in E Dallas, which is the only time I visit, but they deliver. I pretty much always get the Flautas but I mean look at this pic, how could I not just keep ordering those? The dining situation is kinda random, but kinda great, either your on the makeshift sidewalk patio of a fairly busy intersection or on a dining room with great music from a playlist from someones phone in the kitchen while the TV’s play televangelist with the sound on! So random, so amazing. It an experience, foods great
the Flautas at least and nothing else matters, eat well, go home happy! Saludos!

This place is fantastic. I had been to the original location and loved it so much that I took my wife to this new location on our anniversary! We are both obsessed with street tacos and quesadillas, and Mami Coco has quickly made its way to the top of the list when it comes to getting the best of those two items. I highly recommend the chicharrĂłn quesadilla or tacos, and also the bistek. My wife also absolutely loved the chicken beast. The green salsa is tremendous, and the red is great too, but be prepared for some serious heat with the red one.

The quesadilla is cooked perfectly, and reminded me of something I had eaten from a food cart in Mexico 15 years ago. I had been looking for those flavors ever since, and finally found them again at Mami Coco. I told the owner, Gustavo, and he said that for him, food is all about memories. He told me that he tries to recreate the flavors he remembers from road trips with his dad. It was honestly very moving. Gustavo took great care of us, and was very diligent in making sure our food came out just right. As he wanted to be sure everything was running smoothly at his new location. We had the best time, and enjoyed some of the best food either of us have tasted in a while.

I can't recommend a place...

Tacos were decent, the pastor was what you would expect from like a family cookout, I think if they charred it a bit more it would be better. The pastor was a little on the drier side but it wasn't a deal breaker.

The salsa was SOOOO good. The salsa rojo was spicy enough to make me be careful with how much i put on the taco. The salsa verde was so good and savory that I ran out by the time I got halfway through my plate.

The tortillas aren't all that good, they used white maiz tortillas, which are kind of bland. I would recommend they use yellow maiz but that is just my preference, and that they would toast them a bit in the lard from the grill so that get a bit more crispy.

The reason this review got three stars was because of the wait and the lack of onions and cilantro on my taco. I think I waited 25 minutes for 4 tacos with only 1 other person in the restaurant with me. They don't take online orders so I don't know what took so long, but i was getting impatient. Compared to other taco places, I would rank this as slightly above average.

The food could use some more thought, the salsa is great, the service needs improvement. For $2 a taco,...
