Neighborhood Cellar — Restaurant in Dallas

I was really looking forward to giving this place a try being I just moved to the neighborhood. Saying I was disappointed is an understatement. My friend and I were planning on picking up some wine to go with our pizza we had just picked up from Eno’s . When I went up to the counter the man told I was was not allowed inside with the pizza. I told him I would quickly purchase wine and didn’t plan on staying and eating it there. He rudely told me “I wouldn’t want people to think you’re eating here”. I told him again, I just planned on purchasing wine and would leave. He insisted I was not allowed to stay with my pizza. He rudely told me I needed to leave if I was going to have my pizza inside. I live in the area and was walking home, so I didn’t have a car to put it in. What did he expect me to do with this whole pizza? Leave it outside or throw it away? I told him “I guess Ill just leave” and he said “I think that would be best”. My friend and I were in shock how he treated us and have never had this bad of customer service before. This was a very strange altercation. I hope they get better service because I would’ve been a frequent customer and have many friends that live in the area who love drinking wine. Until they fix their customer service, they will not be getting a good recommendation from me...

Owners that are friendly and willing to share their passion for grapes! Taken home a couple recommendations from the staff and now have some new favourite bottles! Crisp white from the French Alps - Vin de Savoie, Jongieux (AOC) - made from the Jacquère grape? Yea, I'd never heard of it either, but now it's something I will always have on hand, now! And if you're not taking a bottle home, be sure to enjoy one of their generous pours in-house. Lot's of price points and things to taste. Can't recommend this place...

Neighborhood Cellar is a true neighborhood gem and gathering place. I see either a friend or neighbor without fail each visit. Every time I walk in, both Eric and David make sure to say hello and are always visiting with their customers. It feels like going to a friend's house - a friend who has the most incredible collection of wine. I appreciate the variety, samples and tastes before ordering, AND the incredible happy hour. SERIOUSLY! This is one of the best happy hour deals around. Thanks to Eric for creating this...
