This is the second year I’ve reached out to this location to request a donation for Teacher Appreciation Week, which takes place in May. Unfortunately, both years have been disappointing due to what felt like a lot of back-and-forth and lack of follow-through.
This year, I personally delivered a donation request letter on official school letterhead and was asked to also fill out an in-store donation form and send a follow-up email to their White Rock location email. I completed all the requested steps back in March.
Last week, I followed up with a phone call. I identified myself and provided the date and time we were requesting the donation for. I was placed on hold, then told that donations aren’t given out in May. When I explained that my request had been submitted in March, I was again asked for my name and placed on another brief hold. I was then told the manager would be in on Saturday and that I would receive a follow-up call the following Tuesday.
I did receive a call from the store, but it felt very dismissive. The person on the line asked how she could help but didn’t introduce herself clearly. When I explained again that I was following up on a March donation request, she asked for my name and email, confirmed she could see my email, and said she would respond—but no email has been sent since.
What’s more concerning is that I know of other schools in the district who have received donations from this location without these kinds of delays or confusion. I couldn’t help but express that it feels like there may be some bias or unfair treatment going on, especially given the repeated dismissals and lack of communication I’ve experienced. Unfortunately, the call ended without resolution, and I still haven’t received any follow-up.
I hope the store takes this feedback seriously and works on improving their communication, consistency, and equity when handling...
Read moreI visited the store for the first time on last Saturday afternoon and there were 2 customers ahead of me. There were 2 cashiers helping each customer. One customer decided she needed more time to decide and she stepped aside. I wait to be polite for the cashier to ask how could she help me. She was rude by just staring at me until I said are you waiting for me? She stated yea instead of a professional Yes. I made my order and apologized to her for Her Behavior. When I asked if the credit card reader was a chip or scan she just pointed at the card reader. When my transaction was completed she never said thank you or asked me to come again. I say this to say Parents please do not send your teenage young daughters out in the work world if you haven't taught them the simple polite morals to live by!!!!!!. And for this location it appears the cashiers were no more then 18 years old. The purchase made me feel unwelcomed. I give the employees the 2 stars not the store. I will visit again in hopes that I do not encounter the same person again. The presentation of the store was worth the encounter. I give the...
Read moreSo I didn’t realize until last minute that they closed early. I called and spoke to Lauren and explained I was gonna be there right at closing time and offered to pay over the phone so she wasn’t held any longer. She said “nooo I can tell you’re driving and I can wait, just drive safely!”. Lauren’s attitude was not reluctant hesitant to stay and wait at all. Some would say that’s not a big deal but, nowadays that attitude of going over and above WITH enthusiasm is hard to find especially from the younger generation (my opinion as a 42 year old). She wasn’t gonna receive a tip or any recognition for staying. I have posted maybe one google review in my life but, in a day and age when human and social interactions are so fragile I had to post a review about how this young lady saved and made my day. Thank you Lauren! We need more thoughtfulness and kindness in retail and life in general. Nothing Bundt Cakes has all my birthday cake business from here on out!
Ok I’ve posted 5 total lol...
