We were greeted immediately by whom I believe was the manager on duty. He was very nice in contrast to the lady that took our order. She was very cold, impersonal and made little eye contact. We didn't wait long for our food which I thought was a good thing, until I tasted it. I had fried crab cakes, chicken fried rice and hushpuppies. The hushpuppies were the best tasting thing on my entreé.
The fried rice had good flavor but that and the crab cakes were mushy and tasted like it was ready under a lamp awhile. I don't know this for sure but we had our food in well under 10 minutes. My wife had fried catfish and the chicken fried rice which was also mushy tasting and you could see alot of grease pooling at the bottom of her plate. She has eaten at the Plano location and said the food there was much, much better.
The portions are very good but I don't feel that two crab cakes were worth $17 with they way they tasted. Our total ticket with tip was like $53 or $54 for both of us. My wife(who's an above average tipper) said she'd have tipped more had the lady who took our order was nicer and didn't look like she didn't want to be there. We had plenty to take home and I have to say when I put the crab cakes in the air fryer they tasted...
Read moreIt was my 1st time here so I had no idea what to expect. You come in and order at the bar, take a number and find yourself a table. The gentleman taking my order was very helpful and asked his coworkers about questions I had if he didn't know the answer, very professional. I ended up ordering 6 raw oysters (10.95) and from the grill shrimp and scallops with rice and vegetable medley (17.95). The oyster appetizer came out in 5 minutes and my main meal 30 seconds after which was a surprise. The oysters were cold and fresh served with plenty of lemons, seafood sauce and horseradish. Delicious. My main meal was not quite what I had expected as the shrimp and scallops were smothered in a white creamy sauce which turned out was their lemon, caper butter sauce. It tasted quite good as did the rice but the vegetable medley was what blew me away as they weren't overcooked and still crisp ! Loved the zucchini, broccoli and carrot combo. The restaurant itself was wide open and noisy with very young children running around still at 8:30pm on a Tuesday and the permeating smell of Chlorox was a little off putting. Still the food was great so I...
Read moreVisited here after a trip to the Dallas Arboretum and it wasn't bad. The oysters in fact were great and very well priced for this area. If that's what you are looking for then absolutely go for it. The ceviche however was a let down things did not feel fresh and the whole dish was overpowered by the vinegar. The atmosphere is minimal but plenty of TVs. This place appears to be very large group and kid friendly, lots of construction workers and contractors there too. The menu is extensive and I will say many of the fried dishes coming out looked very tasty. We sat at the bar and grabbed a beer. No traditional bar service really: just random people would just come out and check on us but we got everything we needed in the end including a 2nd beer. Alcohol looked to be focused mostly on margs and sweet beach drinks but again good prices. Overall not a bad spot, good food for the price especially...
