O. M. G. The swirls!! — and if you are a true Texan, you’ll know what I’m taking about! (Frozen margarita with sangria swirl + salt rim is the best!) Hands down, the best in Dallas! And the food, service and festive atmosphere are great too! Have dined here many times over the last 20+ years. It is a true, local, hole in the wall restaurant with authentic Tex-Mex dishes. Family-owned; friendly and long-time, dedicated staff who always make you feel at home. Great for casual lunch/dinners or special occasions or group dinners or even catering! Have shared many special occasion/large group dinners here with ease. Plus, our catering experience included delivery of favorite menu items in warming trays with chips and salsa, queso and quac, along with a frozen margarita machine and our favorite server, Jairo. :) the party was a hit thanks to #ojedas and Jairo! All meals are great! From guiso de res to fajitas to enchiladas and chalupas and tacos and more! Chips and salsa are some or the best ever. Perfect spice (too much for non-Texans!). Visited recently on a Thursday right before lunch crowd (video) and it was another great experience. Highly recommend if you are in the mood for excellent Tex-Mex food in Dallas.

We went to the original Ojedas Tex Mex Restaurant off of Maple to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Had not been in years. Would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for the chips and salsa. The chips were under salted and tasted stale. The salsa was a minus star if there could be such a thing. Honestly, they should be ashamed of that salsa. It was bland, no heat and zero flavor. With that rant out of the way... their Poblano Chicken Chile Relleno was delicious. The poblano was loaded with shredded chicken breast covered with a tasty sauce and topped with loads of cheese. I ordered the #10 which is the Chile Relleno and One Puffed Beef Taco which was also delicious. The taco was crispy and the beef filling was seasoned perfectly and has a fantastic comino flavor. Everyone else ordered the beef and chicken fajitas which was also good. For dessert we had the churros. Crispy on the outside, perfectly fried, filled with dulce de leche and dusted with cinnamon sugar... delightful treat! Watch out for the first bite is it molten hot šŸ”„ dulce de leche. Fun atmosphere and my daughter certainly enjoyed it; especially being sung happy birthday while wearing a giant sombrero hat.

Came here for the first time for a work related lunch on a Wednesday around 11:15 AM. Our group had 10 people. They did not put the tables together, so we sat across two tables. It seems like this is a very popular place for work lunches. It was quite crowded, and there were many people in work uniforms with badges. They did have a separate salsa dish for each person, so I really liked that. The chips were on the slightly thicker side. Their salsa had a bit of a kick to it. The waitress didn’t remember who got what despite taking our orders in a counter clockwise order across the two tables. No one got anything special added to their order so everything was correct to order. The food was good. They were able to do a combination spinach, and mushroom quesadilla. The spinach was a tad overcooked, but the mushrooms were fine. There was plenty of cheese, topped onto the quesadilla, and a very healthy sized scoop of guacamole. Overall, I think they did a great job for a large group. The food wasn’t amazing, but I thought it was better than average. I would recommend this place for work meals, and I would go back here again on my own.

Dined at Ojeda's Friday night, it was busy, we got seated quickly in a busted up booth seat. SO UNCOMFORTABLE, springs poking into my legs. I know the managers have to know this seat is busted, why would the hostess sit people here, it's rude and inconsiderate.

Our server was wonderful though, quick, kind, somewhat attentive. But the FOOD, it was not good at all. The chips were bland and the salsa was cold and almost like a puree texture, it wasn't even good to look at. We ordered a medium bowl of queso, it looked plastic and had some funky off-yellow color, more like pale yellow. It had flavor, but not a good one.

But let me get to the main dish, the Tortilla Soup and my companion ordered Cheese Enchiladas. The soup had ZERO FLAVOR. What happened? Basically it looked like the kitchen shredded some chicken, threw in some tortilla strips and cheese including a slice of avocado, and then opened a can of chicken broth (I bet it was Sysco foods). BLAND BLAND BLAND. NO FLAVOR, NO SALT, NO ONION FLAVOR, NO CILANTRO, NO GARLIC, NO CHICKEN FLAVOR, IT HAD NO TASTE. For a moment I thought I had covid and had lost my taste buds, but my companion left more than 1/2 of his enchilada plate and a friend joined us towards the end of our meal and confirmed everything was as we described it, flavorless!! Here's where the server should have asked if we weren't happy with our meal, considering we left more than 1/2 of everything we ordered on the table.

Maybe they are better at fajitas or grilled fajitas. something is getting people to come here, maybe the drinks/cocktails. I've only been here 3 or 4 times and it's never something that excites me. But this time it was so below par I felt it best to say something; maybe a manager will read it and step up the kitchen cuisine game. BUT PLEASE, UPGRADE THE SALSA AND CHIPS, AT MINIMUM, MAKE IT WARM!!

the last time I dined here I had crispy tacos and the kitchen had broken the beef down so much it looked like puree of meat. Like what they stuff the taquito's at 7-11 with, that puree of meat. Where's the beef?? This is the same thing that happened at El Fenix. puree of ground beef tacos, yuck!!

I still left the server 22%, this...

Super expensive for rot-gut tex-mex. Only one kind of hot sauce that tasted like tomato paste and vinegar (not at all spicy). No other sauce options available. "SHRIMP A LA DIABLO" was supposed to be "very spicy" – It wasn't! Tasted more like a mild Adobo sauce out of a can. Took forever the get our drinks and even longer for our food. The best thing on the menu was the Topo Chico sparkling water. We won't be back.

We had lunch at before 11:30am. I think we were one of only a three tables seated. Perhaps you folks forgot to include the jalapeƱos. The salsa served to us was just red with a tomato paste consistency and heavy on vinegar. Nothing green. Nothing chunky. As far as price is concerned, your restaurant if as expensive as a high-end Mexican restaurant like Mi Cocina in Highland Park Village! And they serve several different salsas with varying degree of heat to please a wide variety of tastes. Your "Fra Diablo" shrimp dish was particularly disappointing. I've eaten at many different restaurants all over the U.S., and when a menu item is listed as Fra Diablo, it usually means it is probably the spiciest item on the menu. Yours tasted like baby food. The only good thing I can say about our lunch was the portions were large. I'd rather you focused on more authentic tasting spicy food though, and less on...
