First of all I have been visiting this place since discovering it in 2015. It wasn’t the first or last place I’ve tried Indian cuisine, but so far, in the DFW area, it is BY FAR the best! I LOVE that they’ve moved to a bigger space and offer more seating. However, I do have a ONE thing to say about the new location….
In the old location you walk in, place your order at the counter, have a seat, and they’d bring you your food. The process was the same whether you were dining in or getting take away. Now you have the choice to order from your table (if dining in) or order at the counter as normal for take away. This isn’t necessarily a problem, but a bit confusing at first for long-time customers. Now it’s more closely aligned with a general restaurant experience.
I have YET to get anything from here that is NOT tasty. My faves are the Biryani, Naan, lentil soup, tandoori, and two-step. But with this new location I am AMPED to try some of their newly offered dishes (at least, newly offered at the Knox location). I don’t know if these are menu items that have always been offered at other locations, but it’s definitely not been offered at the Knox/Henderson location.
I’ve tried the Mahkali, Curry, and Masala sauces as well as the chicken, lamb, (before becoming vegetarian) & vegetable, and paneer. This opinion may be bias, but paneer is hands down my favorite option for both the two-step and biryani. Simply because I don’t like peas. In the past, they picked out the peas, when I said no peas, but after a while just told me to deal with it (not rudely). I’m sure it was because they were hand-picking the peas from the vegetable mix, so I don’t blame them.
The cheese naan is hands down my favorite option of the naans. The original second and the garlic naan a distant third. Not that it’s NOT delicious, I personally just don’t like crunching on bits of garlic. Other than that I smash ALL of them.
The staff are helpful, knowledgeable & friendly. I’ve never felt mistreated and no one has ever been rude but the owners/managers very much hover. I’m not sure how I feel about that from a work environment perspective, but it is what it is. They even walk around and look at your food while you’re eating it. 😭 My boyfriend called it quality control, I call it a bit uncomfortable because having people watch me eat is not something I enjoy. But that’s just personal preference.
Ordering can get pricey pretty quickly but that has been my experience with all international dining, so I wouldn’t say it’s TOO expensive, but rather what you’d expect to pay for great food and service. (Maybe even a bit cheaper because the quality of the food is SO good!!
If you haven’t gone…. set aside about $40-$50 (for one person) & GO!!!! That will get you an appetizer, entree, sides (like naan) a drink & dessert.
If you’re just going for an entree (with naan) maybe only about $20-$25.

Read moreSuper clean and easy to order/understand menu. Not a true Indian cuisine, more like an indo-American fusion spot. Though it has solely Indian items, it’s styled like a “chipotle” styled Indian food. Quick service. The dishes aren’t spicy at all, we got the TEXAS size (highly rec sizing it TEXAS style for $2-3 more) paneer makhani with basmati rice & garlic naan. I got a medium for spice level, but I would recommend getting spicy (if you are used to Indian food) bc the medium was unexpectedly sweet for an entree… the garlic naan wasn’t the traditional naan, it was a garlic sauce poured over the plain naan. I didn’t mind it but I wouldn’t recommend this dish. That being said, we also got the samosa combo (veg & chicken) and the chicken biryani with raita (Indian yogurt) which I highly recommend. I would get the biryani without the raisins and cashews, but that’s a personal preference. The biryani was very flavorful and I really appreciated that they use chicken breast, not chicken thigh meat. Super generous with the amount of chicken pieces in the biryani. Good price for a quick lunch spot...
Read moreWhen I say this place was amazing!!! IT WAS AMAZING! I am a big Indian food lover personally, I think the na'an bread was lacking compared to the rest of the food! My husband got lamb biryani & I got chicken biryani! The lamb was cooked to perfection!😘🤌🏼 my chicken was amazing. However, I would have liked it in smaller pieces, so it would've been easier to pick up with the na'an. (We got garlic na'an) The staff was patient with us while in line ordering! They were VERY quick to get the meal out! & when we finished with a bowl & or plate, they were quick to clean it off the table! It was so nice to be able to sit & enjoy our food without being interrupted every 2 minutes to boost a tip! The music was just right! You didn't have to yell over it to talk or struggle to hear your conversation! But it was also very just homey like it was a very comfortable energy level place! I honestly would...
