Where to start! First of all the staff is not friendly to deal with. We sent our transport agent there on behalf of our company. We booked the room through Travelocity to which we have accounts. Somehow I inadvertently hit the wrong button for the check in night so it showed our transporter checking in one the 24th instead of the 23rd. When he got to the hotel they told him that his reservation was for the next day. He asked very kindly if they had rooms available and they said yes they did. He asked them if they could just change the night of the stay to the 23rd instead of the next day an the young girl told him NO. He got me on the phone in which I asked to speak to her and she got onto the phone and was already very adversarial towards me. I asked her if she would be ask kind as to just change the day because it was an error. She said "No you lost your money and you will have to pay us again for the room because they had a no refund policy." We were not asking for a refund, just simply to change the arrival date and apply the reservation to the new night. I asked to speak to a manager on duty and was told that there was none available and that there was nothing she was going to do. (Not that she couldn't do, but she wasn't going to do) those were her words. I then demanded to have her call the manager on his cell phone. She finally did after several times of going back and forth. When she got him on the phone I could hear her tell him that we were breaking our reservation and would they refund our room. I hear him say that they had a no cancellation policy and we have lost our money. I DID NOT want my money back, just for them to change that date of arrival. How would they be out any money. Now they got my money for free. After I spoke with her I spoke with our transporter and he told me that the hotel was actually very dirty and as he was standing there he saw a cockroach scamper across the floor. I could over look things such as a roach, but I cannot over look rudeness and the unwillingness to be kind to your customers and try to fix a small problem such as this. Now it cost me money for a room we didn't use and the rental at another hotel. My email stated "free cancellation or modification before 24 march 4pm local" I tried 3 times to amend the booking on the website and received errors I called the hotel at 10.30am on the 23rd of march (more than 24hrs before the cut off time for changes) to cancel my first night as I would be arriving a day late the front desk told me she was not able to help ? And I had to do it online. She put me on hold for 15 minutes and never picked up the phone again. I called back. She told me she was unable to make changes without the managers approval (despite my confirmation email and the website literally stating I could make changes free if charge by calling the hotel) I had to ask her to call the manager. They agreed to make the change but wanted to charge me a $25 change fee. I said no its supposed to be free. She said that's the only way they can make the change. I decided I would fight the battle at the hotel when i got to the hotel they tried again to charge the change fee and I had to argue with the front desk and show them the hotel policy in my email stating I could make changes prior to 24th 4pm. they told me "you made the change on the 23rd but we didnt make the change then so you have to pay it" ??? its not my problem if they waited to make the change ?? eventually I had to wait for them to call the manager AGAIN to approve me not paying the fee even though I WAS WITHIN POLICY.
when I got into the room it was absolutely filthy. Stains on the chair, the couch, the floor, the bed, the bottom of the shower AND the towels. I had to dry myself with a hand towel as it was the only towel not stained ?? Absolutely disgusting and they tried ti scam me out of money when I was fully within policy.
