Honestly, this place makes me sad. Stan’s used to be one of my favorite bars in Dallas, and now the service is ridiculously bad. The past several times I’ve come have been on a weekday, when the crowd is small. Tonight specifically, there are 7 patrons in the building. Ordered a couple drinks and a cheeseburger with fries. The bartender was rude and seemed to not be listening to a word we were saying, and kept disappearing for 5-10 mins at a time. She gave us the two shots we asked for, but not the beer. She walked away, then a couple minutes later said “what beer did you want?” After the food came out, we got a burger with no cheese and no fries. Took a few mins for her to come back around so we could tell her the order was wrong. She brought back the burger with cheese but still no fries. We ate the burger, and then when we finally got her attention again we asked to close out. After asking twice, she came back to us and said “what did you need?”, then we asked for the check and left.
Look, I used to love this place. But in the past year, the service has gotten so bad that I don’t want to come back. Please fix it!!! Maybe hire some bartenders that want to be there...
Read moreStan’s has always been a favorite spot of ours since moving to Dallas. But I wouldn’t have stopped to review except I want the management to know how much their staff meant to me this weekend.
My husband and I were at Stan’s with friends on Friday 7/21 (had a great time!) and when we got home I realized the bracelet that my husband had given me as a wedding gift was no longer on my wrist. We went back to Stan’s holding out hope it may still be there, but I was distraught about losing an irreplaceable sentimental item. The bouncer let my husband know where to go for lost and found, and the bartender quizzed him on what it looked like before unlocking the till and producing my lost bracelet.
The clasp had broken and a patron had found it on the floor and turned it into the bar. The staff pointed out the patron who had turned it in which allowed us to thank our hero.
There were a lot of people who had to do the Right Thing for this story to end the way it did, and I just wanted to make sure the staff was acknowledged and they know how big of a deal their small kind actions were to me.
Good people work here, good people go here....
Read moreThis past Saturday (4/26/25) was my 1st Cousin's Celebration of Life/Birthday Bash. His name was David Atwood and he was quite the boss fixture in the 70s, 80s & 90s in the bar business as he bartended and/or managed all (as he said) the hot clubs in Dallas. Mike McRae (owner) and Bob Meyers (general manager) made sure we had the best of everything for our event held in their private room. Every aspect of our event was flawless from the event space, delicious buffet setup including room for our cake, space for our sign in book with self serve water upon arrival, plenty of tables & chairs as well as bar space for our 75+ guests. They had a projector & screen for us to play our video. Mike and Bob made sure we have the best staff working our event too as most of the attendees including myself were service industry folks. I'd like to give thanks and credit to the excellent job that Doria (foodservice), Glenetta (waitress) and bartenders Travis, Riley and Jared provided for us. I highly recommend Stan's Blue Note for your event too! Many thanks again from me and my entire family for giving Cousin Dave such a great place for...
