Tacebuds — Restaurant in Dallas

I gave this place a try because of social media. Plus it was late and many restaurants were closed we just left a concert (Omari Dillard the violinist) the brother is cold blooded but anywho.... This place has very high reviews and they also really expressed to try the jerk chicken pizza. So we pulled we were rather leary at first the place looked suspect but after talking to this guy in the parking lot he expressed how good the food is he going in to purchase even more food he said it was that good and the amount of cars waiting in the parking lot for their food we were convinced to give them a try. The cashier was very friendly. She greeted us with a smile and everything. The wait time was about 25-30 minutes. As we were waiting it was some other people waiting as well so we were chopping it up with them. The cashier became the DJ bumping the music then she pulled out the Jameson we all had a shot and we saluted my homegirl it was her 50th bday then the cashier gave us some treats that she made which were good. She stated that she will be selling them at the restaurant soon and she also expressed to us that the restaurant is BYOB (fyi this place not have alot of seating it a small establishment). So we had a small "get crumpt" session which was pretty dope. My friend got up dancing doing the crypt walking which was hilarious. A good time was had. The reason being for the 2 stars. After all of that I get home my pizza is way over cooked, burnt for my liking, and it was dry, like chewing cardboard. I was so annoyed and disappointed 😞 For one I usually always check my food before I leave but I didn't this time, so disappointed. My homegirl got shrimp and fries she said it was good. I will say this after receiving such great hospitality/customer service I will give this place another try whenever I'm in the area. We also met the manager as we were walking to the vehicle. I believe his name was Albert he too was pleasant. We shared with him that it was my friend's bday he suggested for us to return and that the meal would on him. I'm definitely holding him to that. Needless to say the pizza is still in the frig I'm contemplating on giving it to one of my guy friends because either one of them will eat it, they eat almost anything or I'll just toss it. Anywho enough of my ranting hehehe.... I will say go ahead and give this place a try I'm pretty sure that you will like it. One not so good experience doesn't mean that they don't have good food.

I was pleasantly over surprised! I had heard it was good but I felt it was pretty great! The amount of flavored drinks or Koolaid drinks was awesome and they were good and sweet. The Tiger’s blood was deliscious. We just wanted to taste the chicken so we got an add on of 2 chicken wings and they were simply deliscious! I like whole wings. They were brined because the flavor went the whole way through. They were cooked well and crispy but I will probably ask for extra crispy next time because I will be getting them again. Oxtail anything here is a “yes”! They are tender, meaty and flavorful. This jerk seasoning is well balanced with good flavor and that spicy kick. The creamy Alfredo pasta was really good. I’m normally a pasta person but that rice though…changed my life and I’m normally not a rice person. My God the rice is flavored so well - Smokey, seasoned, and almost like a fried rice texture. I would come back for it over and over!Last but certainly not least was the combination steak and chicken Philly w/ varied peppers, onions and cheeses with a side of fries. The fries were a little crispy and seasoned. However this Philly was one of the best flavored Phillies I’ve ever had! It was tender, cheesy and delicious. I don’t know if delicious is good enough so I’m going to rate this place Phenomenally Flavorful. It’s a must try. I came back twice in a week! I will be back soon too! Let me also say this - the food is cooked fresh so it’s going to take 10, 15 minutes or more for some things so be patient and enjoy . Mr. Tony was the chef the first day I was there and he was Great as a chef and a rep for the business. There was a beautiful young lady there with beautiful eyes that did a great job of suggesting things for us. Her customer service was great & she was sweet so was the other young lady that helped the second day I was there - she had a fly bob haircut. It’s a small place so be patient,...

This food was delicious but not quite what I expected. They say have some the best food in Dallas. That's true they say serve some Chicago foods that is not so true. I'm born and raised in Chicago and the Italian beef is good but the bun they use is not the bun used in Chicago and the amount Italian beef they put on the bun was not enough, people who put that amount of their Italian beef sandwich go out of business but Tacebuds is in Dallas so will survive and thrive because of Chicagoans desperate for a taste of home. Also they served cheese sauce on the Italian beef sandwich umm thats a NO!!! Again samdwich was delicious just it's not Chicago good. My family and I also had cheese sticks those where easily a 3 out of 10. There was no cheese pull when we bit into the cheese sticks but they where ok. My brother had The Shrimp Po while eating it he said 3 times "this is good" 7 out 10 on the Shrimp Po sandwich. We had two order of Chicken tenders and fries, these where not tenders that where chicken breast cut up into pieces. My son liked the chicken but thoughts fries where tiny but gave it a 6 out 10. But said he would eat it again "tenders" where good but not great. The wings where by far the best thing we ate yesterday. The "Chicago Mild Wing" sauce was dead on is was perfect just like they serve at the Harold's Chicken that made the mild wing sauce popular and the wings where ginormous im pretty sure these worked out at the get regularly to get that swole and massaged regularly to stay so juicy. Absolutely great jobs with wings. 12 out 10 The drinks where the bomb we had strawberry lemonade watermelon lemonade grape lemonade pineapple banana lemonade ALL of these a 15 out 10. You have to stir the drink up to get the perfect taste. Overall I give Tacebuds on the strength of the wings and drinks a 8 out 10 we will be back. I almost forgot the line is long...
