From an avid Marriott rewards patron, I would like to say that this weekend that was suppose to be such a fun and memorable time with my friends was exactly that but instead it was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with aloft hotel. I am ONLY giving this place a 1 because I am unable to give it a 0 or a negative numerical review. On Friday September 27th me and my 2 friends entered into the Dallas lovefeild aloft/element hotel & when we attempted to go to the side that we know we booked at, the front desk worker immediately said “oh they’ll take you over there” referring to the element side of the building, which again we did not book. We didn’t think much of it, assuming that it all must be one system and they can see the reservation regardless. Upon checking in, the front desk worker stated to my friend who made the reservation “it seems like they spelled your name all wrong” which we thought was weird but they assured us it’s fine and gave us keys to the room. As we were getting settled in the room just chitchatting & getting ready, we hear noise at our door & someone was able to gain entry to our room. Of course, both parties being stunned, we ask the other ppl entering into the room, did you alls keys give you access to the room and they said yes. We both went downstairs to sort things out and the receptionist states “oh sorry this is their room” then attempted to lie and state that the other young ladies name was spelled the same as my friend that made the reservation which obviously was untrue. We were told they didn’t see our reservation and after you could since the frustration from us, they suddenly found it. Once we were told we needed to pack up and get moved, the hotel didn’t mention anything about what they would do to rectify this. After I bought it up, they stated they could comp the parking and give us free drink at the bar. We were accommodating & accepted. The next day Saturday Sep 28th was one of the most terrifying experiences. There is an extremely large sliding glass door in the rooms at aloft. My friend needed to retrieve the iron from behind the glass door and when she reached out and touched the door and attempted to slide it along the silver brackets that it’s supposed to slide on, the entire glass door fell and shattered on her. My friend instantly bled out and we could see her artery in her hand. Myself & my other friend rushed her to the urgent care where she had glass in her forehead, gluts along her arms and hands and had to receive 5 stitches for her gash in her hand. After about an hour we had a manager by the name of Tim come talk to us to get a statement and was told by him that he would have to talk with corporate to see what they can do. When we also bought up the security issue from yesterday, the first words out of his mouth were “well was the deadbolt on…” completely missing the fact that these people shouldn’t have even had the ACCESS to come in at all. From there, we got our room changed AGAIN. Once back in the room we realized that the door in question was only hanging on by 1 knob and dangling off the hinge. We know this because when we were placed in a new room the sliding door in this one, had 2 secure knobs supporting the door. NEGLIGENCE. When we asked later about what they were going to do to rectify this situation, another manager, Zena, said she had no power to do anything and had to go through Tim. Tim was gone for the day and the next and again we were told by Tim that he couldn’t make any decisions such as comping the room or anything to alleviate the situation. All in all in our stay of 2 nights, we were forced to change rooms 3 times, had a security breach by strangers having access and walking in on our room, had a negligent safety issue with the door falling and physically injuring my friend and also causing all of us emotional distress, anxiety and worry the entire weekend. And for all of this we were still charged $600 and were only given a drink at the bar and free parking (even tho it’s self park) for everything. DO NOT...
Read moreI stayed here over this past weekend, 6/9-6/11/2023 for the FanExpo. I had my daughter and her boyfriend. I booked a two queen bed studio. It was a five hour drive to get to Dallas from where we live. We were to leave on Friday before 5:00. |However, due to a family emergency I didn't leave town until after 8:00 that night. Putting me at the hotel after 1:00 AM. I contacted them to let them know of my late arrival and was assured it was no problem because they ran their systems at 3:00 AM. Make it to the hotel at 1:30 AM. |Get checked in and to my room and I was put in a king studio with a sofa bed. I booked two beds. I go back down and show her my reservation is for two queen beds. While on the phone she plays around on the computer to tell me sorry, all those rooms are dirty and she can't fix anything. |How in the world would housekeeping leave rooms dirty that are to be reserved for check in that day is mind boggling. I am so unhappy immediately. Sleeper sofas are the worst. I paid for two beds for comfort. When booking I saw the king room with a sleeper sofa, which was cheaper but paid more money for two beds for a reason! On top of that, no bedding for the sleeper sofa in the room. Had to request that, waited 45 more minutes for that. Called over and over at the front desk with no answer to find out what was taking so long. Out of frustration, went to go to the front desk in person only to find the bedding laying on the dirty floor outside our door. However, there was no blanket, just sheets. No telling how long we were waiting for nothing. |Went downstairs again to ask for a blanket and she was nowhere to be found. A man wearing a uniform with a drivers name tag offered to help as he said he hasn't been able to find the front desk worker and that he would personally bring the blanket to the room, and he did. |At this point it is now 3:30 AM and we have to be awake by 7:00 AM to attend the FanExpo. My daughters boyfriend insisted on taking the couch. Resulting in him tossing a turning for hours in pain, getting no sleep. At one point he just got up and put the bed away and accepted he was not getting any sleep. The next morning I spoke with the manager on duty and she told me rooms had been extended and that's why there was no room available. But that she could hold our stuff while we were out for the day to be moved into the correct room. This did happen. We were moved to the correct room Saturday night. |As a result of this experience, it ruined our day at the Expo. We were drained, sore and unable to fully enjoy our experience. At one point, we had to find a spot for the boyfriend to lay down at the Expo and try to take a nap because he felt ill. Resulting in us missing panels we were excited to see along with our photo ops we purchased. Instead of being able to walk around and look at the different shopping, we waited for our turn for photos, found somewhere to lay down and rest until the next photo. We had tickets for just Saturday, so we couldn't make up for any of it the next day. We were also planning on staying for the Hayden Christiansen panel from 7:30 to 9:30, but skipped it because none of us felt well. |There was nothing the hotel could do to make our experience right. I just accepted that my weekend getaway was ruined and arguing for a refund of any sorts doesn't fix any of that. But lesson learned. When attending in the coming years we will not stay at this location again.|Aside from that, breakfast was ok. Oatmeal and toppings are available along with eggs, pancakes and sausage. I can't speak for anything else about the hotel because we spent the whole day out Saturday and when coming back went straight to bed, leaving at...
Read moreThis is my first time staying at an Element property, and I could not have been more satisfied.
Upon arrival, I was promptly and warmly greeted at the counter and welcomed onto the property. The hotel was clean, music and overall ambiance were inviting, and it was clear to me that this hotel can be attractive to multiple demographics. Whether you are in your mid-20s looking for a clean, modern, and eco-friendly option, or if you're a larger family on vacation looking for a comfortable room with extended-stay features, this hotel will certainly work well for both groups.
With regard to the hotel itself, the immediate things that stood out were its cleanliness, bright and inviting spaces, and a unique and modern eco-friendly design. This Element property has mastered the ability to encourage sustainability while still remaining warm and inviting to guests.
I had noted on my reservation that I was celebrating my birthday, and was pleasantly surprised to see my room upgraded, along with a personalized note and accompanying welcome gifts inside my room. That was certainly a nice touch and I appreciated the gesture, especially since it was clear to me that this hotel was at capacity and yet still made an effort to offer that level of attention to detail.
The room that I stayed in reminded me of a beautifully-designed studio, complete with accent walls, built-in wall USB charge ports, plenty of great lighting, framed canvas prints and wall art, and a kitchenette ready for cooking up delicious meals in. I did not get the opportunity to cook in my room, but I'll be sure to come back and take up the opportunity. The bed was large and comfortable, and was certainly a treat to fall asleep in. I also appreciated the window treatments that allowed for full-customization of lighting and privacy during my stay. My view of the hotel faced towards Dallas Love Field, and as an airplane fan, I loved the view and was not at all disturbed by any noise from the airplanes taking off. The bathroom was organized well, and I appreciated the extra lighting and soaps that further added to the Element brand -- clean, crisp, and refreshing.
I did take advantage of Element's breakfast service and was thoroughly impressed. Simple yet satisfying options of hot items included breakfast biscuits on one morning and breakfast wraps on another, accompanied by plenty of breakfast desserts and cereals, along with oatmeal and fruit. The breakfast area was well tended to throughout the service and the staff working in the breakfast area personally greeted each guest they encountered with a "Good Morning" and an offer to provide assistance. That level of customer service was nice to see and seemed to come very naturally to the female agent who was leading the team each morning.
While I did not have time to utilize the pool or gym, I did walk by both facilities and must say that they were both in working and inviting conditions and I will be sure to try both of these out during my next visit.
If you have not yet been to an Element hotel, or if perhaps your primary concern is of finding a reputable hotel that matches value with unparalleled customer service, I would unequivocally recommend Element Dallas Love Field. Your experience is sure to be unique, inviting, and without a doubt will make you want to return back and bring new friends and family to experience this hotel's many great features.
My thanks to the staff at Element Dallas Love Field who made my first experience with the Element brand a superb one and left me proud to call this my new 'home away from home' in Dallas. I will be back and very much look forward to...
