Vera's Bakery — Restaurant in Dallas

I ordered a tres leches cake over the phone on Tuesday. Went to pick it up at scheduled time and it was wrong. They made a white cake instead. Originally I was told they would make me another one within a hour and a half. I left to kill some time and then received a phone call that since the original order says white cake then I have to take it and they were too booked to make me another one. On top of that, they wanted me to go back, pick up the cake, and pay full price. I had already paid a $30 deposit and I offered for them to keep that and I will take the cake. The lady blamed the incident on that I didn't speak Spanish well and the lady that took the order didn't speak English. She said that's why they don't like doing phone orders. My first time trying Vera's cakes was at a birthday party. It was so good! I just had to ask the hostess where she bought it. I've come to purchase a cake for an event and it was delicious. They're bakery is so cute! They have a small seating area indoors and outdoors to enjoy your pan dulce. 😊 I also loved the large selection of cakes and pastries to choose from. 😋 Everyone enjoyed thecake (strawberry with strawberry filling) and they to were familiar with the bakery🧁 I've also tried the pan dulce. Good flavor, soft, and very tasty as well. My only recommendation is that they add additional filing to their empanadas. The staff is polite, patient, and very helpful. Just picked up this cake that was supposed to be a surprise for my girlfriend that's graduating and It was supposed to be ready by 2 pm. When I got there at 2:40 pm they said it wasn't ready and that it was going to be another 15 minutes, so I waited. My guess is that it was still fresh and the frosting didnt get a chance to hold up the top layer just yet because all I did was make a left turn once the cake was in the car and it all fell apart.
